As long as the state house is run by Democrats, and as long as enviro-progressives run the state government agencies, California will continue to decline in virtually ALL ways. This state has essentially been destroyed by environmentalism. If you doubt it, look at the San Joaquin Valley.

We MUST get away from this rush to destroy the lives of human beings to 'protect' little fish. It is simply INSANE to use taxpayer funds to destroy human activity, the lives of human beings, in favor of the lives of FISH & MICE!!!

Stop the budget crisis, end the Iraq and Afgan
wars. Let the U.N. deal with the Taliban.
It's the warchest, stu.pid.

The funds generated should go towards park operations, not wages or special interest projects. We should also hold off on acquiring additional State Parks until the current ones are being properly managed.
Due to public safety concerns, an archery range on State Park lands will be a tough sale. However, if you are serious I would recommend that you establish a group and present you proposal to your local State Park manager.
I feel that State Parks would like to see more diversity in the park users and I have found them easy to work with. Set up a meeting and submit a well planned proposal and provide examples of areas where parks and archery ranges coexist, like Golden Gate Park and I believe Discovery Park in Sacramento has a range.
Archery is one of the safest sport around, with less reported injury when compare to golf or tennis. Unlike crossbow that could be accidentally fired, every arrow shot from an Olympic recurve bow or a compound bow has to be intentionally shot, it doesn't fire itself if you don't pull the bow and aim to begin with. Simply by selecting a safe location (there are plenty of them in Marin), and following some of the most basic archery range rules would prevent any accident from happening.

Also, Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) provides liability insurance for all USAA certified instructors and JOAD Archery Clubs. It covers all archery related event as long as the event is supervised by a USAA certified instructor.

The old Hamilton Airfield would have been a great place for a park and a Archery Range. It's not in Marin, but Cesar Chavez State Park in Berkely is HUGE, and a great place to bring the kids and fly kites.

Yes, that would have been perfect and so is the park directly across from 101 than hardly anyone ever visit.

I would leave the kite flying location at Berkeley alone since there is already tons of activities there, just the area here in Marin that is doing absolute nothing for people except sitting around until major developers walk in and take over is what we should all be concern about.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aquarius

Money is a source of friction between you and friends now, so treat it with caution and respect. There could be a disagreement between you and a chum about a possession or a debt that one of you owes the other. If you're trying to organize a forthcoming social event, you could come unstuck when working out how much it's all going to cost because it might be far too expensive.
