Way to go...Godspeed with spreading the word and uniting Americans and Legal Immigrants. It is not okay to covet your neighbors goods or to exploit children by using them to take advantage of others' goods and services.

Have as many as you can afford, not use them to take advantage of American benefits paid for by Americans.

The file is growing, on average, by more than $50 billion a year. Beyond federal taxes, all illegals automatically pay state sales taxes that contribute toward the upkeep of public facilities such as roads that they use, and property taxes through their rent that contribute toward the schooling of their children.
The non-partisan National Research Council found that when the taxes paid by the children of low-skilled immigrant families — most of whom are illegal — are factored in, they contribute on average $80,000 more to federal coffers than they consume. Yes, many illegal migrants impose a strain on border communities on whose doorstep they first arrive, broke and unemployed.
To solve this problem equitably, these communities ought to receive the surplus taxes that federal government collects from immigrants. But the real reason border communities are strained is the lack of a guest worker program.
Such a program would match willing workers with willing employers in advance so that they wouldn’t be stuck for long periods where they disembark while searching for jobs. The cost of undocumented aliens is an issue that immigrant bashers have created to whip up indignation against people they don’t want here in the first place.

First of all, let's not mince words. They are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, with the emphasis on 'ILLEGAL.' Per penal code 8 USC Sec. 1325:

"Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both."

Secondly, "Since undocumented workers have only fake numbers, they’ll never be able to collect the benefits these taxes are meant to pay for." Fake numbers?? Many of these are the SSNs of living US citizens, whose credit and lives have been ruined because an illegal stole their identity. Are you actually trying to make us feel feel sorry for these illegals, who knowingly use fake numbers (i.e., lie and cheat) to get illicit employment and then, oh, poor things can never collect the benes?? You're joking, right?

And yet they unashamedly continue to proliferate like rabbits once they hit US soil, claiming, "The Catholic church made me do it" since birth control is forbidden by the church. Is it pure ignorance or stupidity or both that they don't remember the other sin that the church preaches - extramarital sex?

Let me guess - 1) you are/were an illegal immigrant; 2) you are an anchor baby of illegals (who are still illegal after being in the US for decades - no allegiance to the country that provided them/you with your current living standards) or, 3) you have family members and/or friends that are here illegally and/or taking advantage of as many freebies they can get and/or are using 'fake numbers' to work illegally. Bill - kudos and many thanks to you for getting this message across. It is one that needs to be vocalized just as vigorously and loudly as the one being yelled by illegals and their supporters about their percieved entitlements. Giving illegals rights and anmesty is unfair and a huge slap in the face to those immigrants, who came here legally, went through the rigorous process and paid costly fees for the privilege to become a US citizen. If I didn't have to work during the time of the protest, I would be proud to join you. We US citizens still outnumber the illegals (though at the rate they are blatantly multiplying, they can soon catch up). And the majority of us US citizens are outraged at the politicians who pander to these illegals simply for their votes. US citizens unite and take back our country. My father did not fight in 2 wars to have our country taken over by the likes of illegals.

Like many issues confronting our lives, immigration policy is one where we seem to have difficulty in engaging in adult conversation on the topic. Perhaps this is why we find ourselves in the convoluted mess we do when it comes to immigration. Our government leaders, the only ones with the power to change or enforce policy, sit idly by while these issues fester and boil. There is a complete lack of movement on the immigration front, other than the construction of some fencing along our southwestern border with Mexico. A guest worker program should have been created decades ago in workable form, along with borders that were capable of being defended. No matter what immigration policies we develop and embrace, none of them are defensible if our borders remain the seive-like messes they are. But can't we at least sit down and discuss these issues without calling each other names? I hope some day we can.

trust me people...there will be a huge change in the 2010 congressional elections..count me in as an independent.
