Unless I'm mistaken, amphibians possess the ability to regenerate lost body parts -- not just toes, but even full limbs. I've read and re-read this article several times, but didn't see a single mention of that fact. It would have been helpful to include it, to help people who might wonder about dismembering even a toe from a frog and could consider it "animal abuse" in some way.

Not only do the frogs who've lost toes survive, they're essentially as good as new quite quickly. Can't speak for them as to how much pain they feel as toes are snipped off, of course!

Now we humans are to blame for different toads doing "it".I thinks we needs a Presidential commision to look into this sad fact.
