What is the story behind the statue at Cedar Hill, something about a woman falling down the stairs?

Also heard something bout the church in the Selma cemetary is haunted.

In cedar hill,a local doctor was to get married. When she came down the stairs she fell and died. This was other wedding day. Might be true but I heard it all my life,they say you can go to cemetery and see her as well,but of course I am not going to see if it is true day or night I'm a coward.

Finally an interesting thread! We recently lived on grounds that were once the site of a confederate medical hospital. We were also about 500 ft from a dock that exploded and killed many men. We had what is called a residual energy in our house. It appeared to be a young man who would peep around the doorway from our breezeway...the head would appear at night, it would turn it's head towards where we were sitting then it would be gone. Quite spooky!

Oh man!!! I read somewhere that the native Americans say not to build on graves and also heard that you are not to build on old open wells. I know a lot of things some are weird and the people who told me were not lying its spooky some things I have heard.

What is the story with that huge wooden house in Iron Gate near the tracks? I remember my Maw Maw telling me stories about it, but so long ago cant remember?? Anyone???

?my mawmaw told me stories about this place as Well...she had stayed there as a child...said the people never used the up stairs because it was so haunted also, there were shackles in the basement and a vault...I have taken pictures of this house and caught a lot of things! Google Covington Virginia hauntings and there is a website that has a picture of this house, has a ghost woman, dog and a little boy

I heard the house in selma is where children and a woman died. Also heard that humpback bridge is haunted,I know from experience that something strange is in the water. My Granadad told me that as a young man one night he was walking home and a lantern followed him he turned around and not a person was there. there are a lot of things I heard as a child scared me to death.

It's the Dew house across the tracks in Iron Gate. My son was in there years ago and had bottles thrown at him. Pics have been taken there by the owners. Many people have lived there that say it's haunted and some have seen a figure in a window.

i have also seen orbs, it was a round ball of colors floating over the Kanawha river in Henderson WVa right where it meets the Ohio river, stories are that its the ghost Chief Cornstalk who was hung in Point Pleasent ,i did a search and it was some good reading for sure, it also the same area where Mothman that is a legendary creature reportedly seen in that area, more good reading.

My son lives in Clifton - I won't give the address of course, but his house is definately haunted. "Jennifer" as he calls her has been seen by quite a few of his friends. She has said things to my son atleast twice that I know of. They have a baby and one night from behind him he heard her say in a very excited voice, "Baby!". They can hear her walking around the house - among other things. His mother in law has had Jennifer gently scratch her shoulder while sitting in their living room and a few nights later my daughter in law woke up with Jennifer gently scratching her back. This is SOME of the things that has happened. She's an active but friendly ghost and they are not afraid of her.

Yes there is a house on Mckormic ( I hope Im spelling that right) st. in Clifton Forge at the top of the hill I lived in it when I was little we saw and heard many things. There was old lady that I and my mother had seen. A little boy who you used to slam doors. There was an incident where a chair was flung through the air from one side of the room to the other. It got so bad that my mom and her then boyfriend who is now her husband left the house one night and never returned they even had my grandfather go back to the house to get their things and mine because they would not set foot back into that house.

I know so many "stories" of this area......Panther rock in Potts Creek is haunted. Women was killed by a panther and they say you can hear her screams and the Panther growling during a rain storm. Also blood on the rock.

the cemetary in lowmoor across from the Landfill is haunted by a Civil War nurse. My father told me this story. She still tries to find people to help. Said he was walking by there one night and heard footsteps behind him. He looked and saw a woman in a nurses outfit of that era following him with the first aid kits they carried back then. said he ran like hell and never walked by there again at night. Said she had a gunshot wound to the side of her head he could see.

The mansion at the top of mccormmick is haunted as well as someone stated. From what I heard someone hung theirself upstairs.

There used to be hanging tree in the middle of the main road around where the court house is in Clifton or kind of near where owens pharmacy is. Spirits are said to roam the streets at night or you can hear the snapping of the rope.

Pikes Pond is said to be haunted due to a train going into the water. Not clear of actual story.

The house mentioned in Iron Gate has had many deaths from what I hear and is heavily active.

I lived in a house On layfayette st. in Clifton that was haunted. an old man had died there from a heart attack or spider bite. Very friendly ghost lol. have many stories behind him. The house has since been tore down due to a fire.

All I can think of at the moment.

ps. the statue spoke of. she has no hands. it is said if you touch her something bad will happen to you. My aunt touched it one time and two days later had a bad car wreck.

Can anyone tell me where Panther Rock is exactly? I've heard the story forever but no one seems to know where it actually is.
