If only there had been a jet ski with a rope and swimmers ring. Then there is hope with one person who gets caught in a rip tide but definately the only hope if there are more than one. Without a Jet ski then the life gaurd is at risk of drowning as a result of the rip tide and trying to save another person.
I pray that the City of Fernandina will re-evaluate this drowning and make jet skis available for real emergencies. The coast gaurd is only for recovery not rescue.
