Everyone makes mistakes. Before the cop haters start piping up, think about what your life would be like if your job was a matter of public record, and every misstep you made was fodder for the Sentinel on a slow news day.

Absolutely! Everyone makes mistakes and this guy is probably a very good cop.

I agree with the comments above....most police officer-deputy sheriffs have their life squared away unlike most of the people they have to deal with on a daily basis. Everyone makes mistakes and I think the punishments fits the crime.

Awww, he'll crack a few heads, rape a couple of women and he'll be as good as new in no time.

I would probably be classified as one of those cop haters and this sounds way too harsh. Some officers can kick people down the stairs and not face any consequences. I am sure he will fight this if he can.

Uh, this wasn't just a "mistake" on the deputy's part; this was gross incompetence on the deputy's part. The deputy wandered off, leaving an unhandcuffed, dangerous suspect to simply walk out of the police station house. Sounds like a Barney Fife moment!

Another idiotic remark from an ignorant cop hater.

Hey Deputy Bosco,
Now that you'll be on patrol, about looking the other way when you're hiding at your favorite speed trap and me coming down the road doing 35 over the posted speed?

<quoted text>
The differance is that the cop who kicked someone down the stairs got a "pat" on the wrist by the Orlando police chief who was an affirmative action appointment by "Booby" Dyer. This was also the chief who still has not found her gun which was stolen and would like to sweep every mistake under the rug.

This guy should be "re-assigned" out the door.
