I am thinking of starting a business in Burnside. Would you shop in that area???? If someone was to have quality surplus items such as makeup etc... really cheap. Most items under $2. Would you shop there??? Would you rather have quaility candles & gifts at lower prices than stores in the area. Primative and more. Most items made locally and in the USA. Of course can't find a few items made in the USA. What would you like to see in the area??? Thanks for your input....

Thanks for your input.... like a botique? That sound nice If the prices were reasonable. I don't care to pay for handmade things just so long as it is good quality and I could get years of use out of it.

Wouldn't shop there no matter where it was located. Sorry.

Enough Said wrote: <quoted text> Same stuff, same customers, different location. Good luck. It will not be the same stuff. I already have a store just relocating to hwy 27, also sell my products in Renfro Valley. I won't have junk in the store. Candles, tarts, warmers, homemade items and lots more. And there will also be some old vintage items. I do the flea market because I get so much business there on the weekends and want in a convenient location so customers don't have to wait until the weekend or just don't like to go to Flea Markets. I already have regular customers that are local and other states.

I would shop there and I think you would bring in new customers from this area who have never been in this kind of store. But it would have to depend on your location in Burnside and it couldn't be like the flea market items that are in the first aisle. And I think some are in the last aisle, most people are growing tired of them. They may be only a dollar, but they are hardly worth that.

As I travel places I see the need for items made in the USA and here in KY. I was over seas and wanted a souvenir and couldn't find anything made there until I started asking where I could get something made in that country. I finally did and that is what I wanted. I can buy Made in China stuff there but I sure don't want to pay a big price for a piece of junk there because it says their name on it. So I look for items made where I am. Like a Tater Knob Pottery in Berea. Beautiful pottery. Berea has some nice stuff made in KY. When I'm in Costa Rica I get their wood bowls, especially the ones made out of rosewood.Did anyone know of the man not far from here that makes wood bowls and other things out of wood. I have one of his bowls and it's beautiful. Expensive but nice. There are so many talented people out there that make things and just looking for someone to want to buy what they have to offer. You can't buy anything any better then something you know is made by hand. Something like that is what we need around here. Made in Pulaski County. or at least KY.

It's a great idea to support any small business with items mostly made locally. They don't make ugly fat guy makeup but I do buy candles :)
Post when you're going to be open.

Post when you're going to be open. I'll bet you are beautiful to someone. Although I respect the self deprecating humor.:-)

Thanks for the input. I rented the store this week. When open I'll have signs out and it will be located between the Pitman Creek Bridge and Lost Lodge Road on 27. On the right coming from Burnside left from Somerset.
I have a lot of stuff in storage and will have a big indoor yardsale sometime after March 1st in 1 section of the store and also have a few of the items I will be selling in the main store. There are two entrances so I can keep the stuff separated.
Please keep giving input on what you would like to see in the area. Or know any crafters that have a unique item...
