One of the richest towns in Kentucky will become super wealthy!!! They will pave our streets with gold!!! Every major restaurant will build 5 locations!! Unemployment will go to 0 !!!! There will major hotel chains build 20 story highrise hotels!!! Everyone will get a mansion!! No one will EVER drink and drive and no one will EVER be killed in our town!!! No children will ever go to bed hungry because their parent drank up the grocery money. No poor soul will ever be tempted to drink themself to death and no one will use alcohol as a gateway drug that hooks them on meth or coke. No our lives will all be perfect if we will just let the booze in!!!!

I mean that is what everyone seems so eager to believe even though they know it is a farce!!!

No different than it is now, those who drink, WILL and those who don't, WON'T, and those who don't won't anyone to know that they drink, will still drink in private. It's Somerset, slow to change their way of life. I'll still visit either way.

some more business/restaurants, some more tourist, better services through added revenue, less crime through regulation and taking bootleggers money used to finance other illegal activities away.

That's right ! Al Capone bootleggers will be out of business, which means there's criminals now, peddling alcohol, when Moonshining is a God given right in the State of Kentucky, and so is it's pot... why do you think they call it the Bluegrass State ? So instead of stifling Kentuckians creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, it should be harnessed, and new industries will emerge, that is both safe, and profitable... it's providing more jobs, and isn't that what it's all about ?

Simply stated..
1) yes businesses will increase (no on said the streets will be paved with gold)
2)drunks will continue to beat their wives and drink their childrens food money (but that ALREADY happens)..ps..they smoke it too but thats still legal and sold in every store.
3) Restaurants WILL move here and their will be more jobs (NO one said every major chain would come)
4) DUIs will continue but they already happen while we are dry!!..every statistic I've read shows DUIS decrease.
Its not hype..its fact..idiots like the person who started this blog have tried to keep a legal activity illegal for too long. Why??..to sell it themselves ??? HMMMMM.. The churches have scared you into believing that we will be Sodom and Gamorah if this passes and morons like this will continue to exagerate truths to try in vain to convince the rest of us that WE are the ones who are nuts. The rest of the friggin country is wet..are we so stupid and irresponsible that we, alone among most of the US, WE in particular cant handle it?? Are we so righteous and naive that we bury our heads in the sand and pretend that DUIs..spousal abuse and alcoholism dont already exist in this DRY ..let me say it again..this DRY community??? Those who want it get it idiot! ITS HERE!!!!! LEGALIZE IT SO WE CAN MAKE SOME MONEY AND MOVE THIS ONE HORSE TOWN OUT OF THE EARLY 20th CENTURY. History PROVES prohibition doesnt work. Why are some people ignorant enough to believe they can convince us that prohibition is the way to go?? VOTE YES!

U haters know he is right on so much of what he said! Yes it was sarcasm scribed with the often bitter reality of dry areas suddenly going wet. Call names or whatever...seems to me that the ignorant are those who end up matching up with the picture painted so well. "Wow", you are more stupid than you might ever realize.

Wet or dry IS NOT about religion you bozo people! Those on the wet side have made it about religion for some strange reason; guilt?. Its about freedom of choice and a democratic vote. Focus morons focus. Leave the religious aspect out of it and get to the real issues in the matter. Since in America, the majority rules, then let it happen and STFU people...now and AFTER Somerset votes dry.

If the majority was allowed to rule, we'd all have slaves and our women folk would be in the kitchen. This is not about majority, its about freedom of choice. Sanctimonious, much?

No sir you are wrong its the dry side that always wants to make it a religous issue. Why is it that you want Somerset dry?

Majority does not rule in a Democratic Republic (see Madeline Murray O'hare and prayer taken out of school as an example), however it does determine the outcome in a local option election. The dry forces are making this a moral issue and the wets are making it an economic/freedom/positive change issue.....Vote Legal/regulated

"What"Churches have made it a church issue. Vote No signs posted on church property (violating their irs mandate to stay out of elections if they wish to remain tax exempt) Churches have gone to nursing homes to register invalids and will be using church vehicles to bring the disabled flock to the poles (again..IRS..hello) Preachers run the main anti alcohol organization (KIDS) putting no signs everywhere. I agree it is about freedom of choice but where is that freedom when your preacher threatens to kick you out of your church if you vote wet or teaches that you will be held morally responsible for ANY harm that comes to people if there is an alcohol related injury or death. We should all vote how we feel not how we are commanded to vote as has been done REPEATEDLY by the churchs around here.

it is the preachers and churches that make it a religous issue. the wet side just point out the benefits economicaly and as for me just the restriction of freedom that bothers me.. i dont even drink....i dont like seat belt laws either..
