My dad passed away of cancer in 2001 after living in Fennville most of his life. Wondering if this is what it was from? Now mom has health issues and doctor might think its cancer guess where she lives yep thats right Fennville. I'm scarred to loose two family members to cancer and all your worried about is a lawyers bill? Try looking past the end of your nose for once in your life!

I would invite any of the skeptics to come and bath at my home in Fennville. You are welcome to indulge yourself in the black greasy muck that continually comes out of the faucet. I have found out it is Maganese. Would any of you care to explain what that is doing in my drinking water and how it is going to affect my children down the road?! Before you all go spouting off facts about this situation I suggest you get the facts right. Your investigative skills are lacking. You might consider that we are not asking for millions or billions of dollars we just want clean water like you have. Have you become so lazy that you just sit back and say oh well. If you are feeding your children substances that you know are high in bad elements then shame on you.

Erin Brockovich is no hero. Before bringing her in to 'help' people ought to know the real story. Starts with the facts not the made up Hollywood hype. The health claims made in the lawsuit are not backed up by any known scientific evidence and the town had no higher rates of cancer than other towns that had not been 'exposed'. In other words the health claims were bogus. None of the cases went to trial - they were all settled in sealed arbitration. The lawyers pocked 40% and were friendly with many of the arbitrators. Many of the people in the town received little if any money and some even sued the law firm Erin worked for over their settlements. Anyone who wants real solutions should tell this fraud to pack her bags and get out of town.
I'd also be curious if the arsenic levels are above the new standards implemented in the last days of the Clinton administration that put even some city water supplies above the limit (again with very little to back up the new lower levels) or the previous levels that were based on real data not just junk 'feel good''science'
Unfortunatly, you have not done the research and have gotten bad info. I would love to see your resources for the cancers in Hinkley as well as all of the elbow rubbing you have mentioned between the lawyers and the arbitration team. Possibly you could enlighten us all since they were sealed. I would invite you to read submission 22 and if you can explain to me why I should be made to use water that has maganese in it to bath or anything else I would love to hear it. Erin made it very clear that her biggest priority is getting everyone clean water. She said in the meeting if you would have bothered to attend that the movie has been a double edge sword for her. Alot of fiction and hype that is not always beneficial to any situation that she gets involved with. Stick a sock in it.

To all Erin haters.Would you like to trade homes and live in our contaminated mess? Would you like to feel ill everytime you eat? Would you like to watch you neighbors suffer? THIS is the reality of Fennvilles problem. That great corporation just acts as if they are God on our problems. NO one would listen in council of our town, so we moved up the chain of ladder and we are THANKFUL Erin came. Good day!
No one would want to live in a contaminated mess. Since your home probably would not be very marketable due to the problem, why not walk away from it like millions of other Americans have done for reasons not nearly as significant as yours.

If in fact you are living in such a situation exposing yourself and your family to toxins that will damage their health, there can be no excuse for you to NOT take action to protect you and your family's health.

I would invite all of you skeptics and critics to come to Fennville see for yourself what we are dealing with. Please be a little kinder to us. It seems like you are mad at the persons that are already dealing with hardship. Why?? Can you tell us what we have done to offend you by asking for help with the attempt to get clean water. We asked everyone that was supposed to help and they turned a blind eye and a deaf ear. When the situation is truly serious you can't just hope it away. Why are you mad at us for asking what everyone is intitled to have. Clean water without fear of it killing you.

Chevron Chemical Company dumped 55-gallon drums filled with wastes years ago on property near where the contaminated drinking water wells are located. Doesn't it seem more logical that the groundwater contamination is from chemicals dumped in the ground years ago and not from the spraying of fields by Birds Eye?

Lets see, When one of your parents has passed away of cancer and the other was just diagnosed with cancer and you have to friends that have caner as well and all of them live in Fennville, Hmm tends to bring up the question what is in the water there? My father passed in 2001 mom was diagnosed august this year. And two of my friends have cancer, one of them breast cancer, the other lymphoma. Makes me want to drink bottled water when i visit. I for one am glad Erin came to town! Hopefully they can stop other families from having the same things happen to them.

Hopefully, the attorneys and consultants are looking at all possible responsible parties. The drinking water wells may have been contaminated by wastes dumped by Chevron Chemical Company years ago. If chemicals are still present beneath the ground, contaminated drinking water is just one of the health risks to nearby residents. Does anyone know the years that Chevron dumped the drums on the property?
