Full story: www.pantagraph.com

Not acceptable on all levels. I didn't know a judge could overturn Federal laws. I hop the people in WA unseat the judge. What'll it be next if they don't?

I've heard they love illegals, but that's not the point as I see it. Next the legal system will grant shamnesty to all illegals because they'll have been here long enough too.

Voter fraud is very easy...

How many areas do not require that you provide you are a legal resident in order to get a license.

Now, in VA, in order to register to vote I need to prove I am a legal resident of the US and a resident of VA. Well, my driver's license is considered proof. Therefore, I am illegal, I go to say MD (which has since tightened up) and get a license, I come to VA and say I am moving to VA, bingo, get a driver's license (this happened a bit). Now I am illegal and can vote.

Or, in many counties, a voter does not have to show who they are (produce picture ID of some legal sort). Therefore, as long as I know my neighbor's full name and address, I can literally steal that vote - especially if I know my neighbor tends not to vote.

This woman brought to light a serious issue - how easy it is to commit voter fraud.

I don't know about other states, but in Ohio the application for voter registration simply has a checkbox which asks whether or not you are a US citizen. It doesn't require any documentation whatsoever.

Here is VA requirements:

To be eligible to register to vote in Virginia a person must:

Be a resident of Virginia (A person who has come to Virginia for temporary purposes and intends to return to another state is not considered a resident for voting purposes)

Be a U. S. Citizen

Be 18 years old (Any person who is 17 years old and will be eighteen years of age at the next general election shall be permitted to register in advance and also vote in any intervening primary or special election)

Does not claim the right to vote in any other State

Not currently declared mentally incompetent by a court of law

If convicted of a felony, your right to vote must have been restored

*****

This is off the form pdf:

""For Registration

If you are registering for the first time by mail, federal law (the Help America Vote Act) requires you to provide identification. To avoid delays, please enclose a copy of one of the following documents that shows your name and address with your application:(1) current and valid photo ID,
(2) current utility bill,(3) bank statement,(4) government check,
(5) paycheck, or (6) other government document. You can also present this required identification at the polls but may experience delays.

For Voting
Virginia law requires every voter voting in person to show identification or sign a statement, subject to felony penalties for false statements pursuant to §24.2-1016, that the person is the named registered voter."

The system can still be worked around but it seems better than many states.

But lets see how long this lasts. Every year there is challenge to the having to show ID to vote rule.

We already allow illegal aliens to vote in California. Its just not publicly announced. They will deny it, but we don't do adequate checks. I moved a year ago, changed my registration and yet still I'm registered in two different locations. Nothing stopping me from voting in two places. I also found out when I go absentee status, I'm registered at the polling place as well. No ID check. Even if were to catch my second ballot they wouldn't be able to prove someone else didn't vote at the polling place because of their lack of control. Its a real travesty. We will one day have more votes than population in California.

What's to stop some madman from "importing" 20 million "paid" illegal aliens in order to win an election? And then having the taxpayer pick up the tab for the illegal aliens welfare besides?

Isn't that like selling the POTUS position to whoever has the most money and the most "logistical support" to pull off such an import of illegal voters, lives in a circle of friends who are in themselves the embodiment of plutocracy?

A never ending cycle of cronies, running we the people, and we the people are paying them for this "priveledge"

Would you pay for a submarine sandwich that had green moldy meat in it?

Of course you wouldn't. You wouldn't pay for it at all. Or if you had, be damned pissed off and demand your money back immediately.

I am tired of green, moldy government.

The article describes a woman who registered her dog to vote in Federal Way, Washington. I live in Federal Way and I don't think dogs vote as a general rule, although at least one was elected to the local school board in recent years.

Also, the article did not say whether the dog was a Democrat or Republican.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Aries

There is minor evil around today, whether it is harsh words or actions. Relationships with non spiritual people will tend to be abrasive, as you come to understand that such people can never be trusted, for their agenda is not love. Beware of criticism from colleagues or friends. Avoid being narrow minded and confining your views to the conventional. You may want to argue with everyone and everything, but beware of devouring your own energy in the process.
