These school officials are delusional, egged on by the construction industry no doubt. Hello, this is Fayette County, West Virginia. Many people are struggling to feed their families and pay their bills and you want to us to pay 17 mill for a new school. People, we need to fight this.

Not to play the devil's advocate, but would combining schools save money in the long run by cutting personnel? Just sayiing... letting go of your old school is tough, though. Nostalgia

what you people dont understand that if this bond doesnt pass which is about 50-60 dollars more ayear that you will have to pay,the state will force school to consolidate anfd aour fayette boe or anyone else cant do anything about it.ask the people of marsh fork. the state was willing to build anew school for them and 1 of the other schools down there and they fought it,voted it down and shortly after the state made them close the school anyway and now they are bused all of the way to liberty high school. The state has said that the will only fund 3 high schools in fayette co and this plann they have in place diffent;y isnt the best one however it is what was presented and now we have 2 choices.1 get a new school built and upgrade all of our other schools 2 let the State school board do their own thing. I to all the idiots out there that have a problaem with our school board lets put someone in there that will help fayette county.on that note most of you voted the ones in there now and the ones in the past. dont make our kids pay for our bittersness toward these people.stop by the new new river elementaryand ask if they like what has change for their new school.remember a bottle of water or soda a day cost you about $350 a year. so when you say that you wont vote for this just to save$50 or $60 a year for our children you really must not care about them at all anyway because if this bond dont pass the 22 million that the state is willing to give our children and part i might had is money that we ahve paid in will be taken back and given to another needs project in a different county. The voters of lincoln co ,greenbrier, kanahwa and other counties was also originally against consolidation and didnt want new school built until they wised up and seen what the state boe did in a neighboring county. needless to say they cared enough about their children and passed their bond. lets help our kids and our county and keep our money here for them

Just tell me why wouldn't you want your child or a child in a new school? Think about this you have 2 schools in the county the has to be heat by COAL. Coal to heat a school in the year 2009 WOW!!! Then think about this your newest school in the county other then the new one that was just built, is 33yrs old!!! 33yrs old!!!! There is another WOW. Here is another tid bit your oldest school is are you ready for this is about 70yrs old!!!! 70yrs old!!!! Look it's time for a change and before you say that I don't leave in the county I have a son who goes to the high school. Just one more thing Fayette County needs to really start to wake uo when it comes to our children.

Hey how about making that 'Fayette County needs to wake up when it comes to YOUR children'. I am already paying plenty to educate YOUR children. I don't think I should be paying more for YOUR childrens comfort. Thats all it is. They won't be getting a better education.

Ok I hear yea about kids being lazy lazy lazy. But where does it start from? That is another topic. The thing is that the county needs a new high school. If it happens look at what comes from it. More or better teachers, any way you want to put it. More oppertunities for the students. This is what we as parents and guardians want for our children a better future.

hey sally how you going to clean it out.seems kinda funny that NO ONE has been happy with this boe office for a long time however you keep on voting these people in there, which are not all bad but if you vote them in support them.and glad you are 100% right about where the laziness starts.go to a pto or lsic meeting at any school.it is a shame that a school with over 300 or 400 kids cant even get more than 10 or 15 parents to help out.i understant that some of them work however there are a lot of activities at other times and ask any teacher, when they have parent teacher conferance only about 50% of the children parents show up.RIGHT people really care about education.bull crap!another thing,we pay for all of those people that are so called disabled that still hunt, fish, ride their 4 wheelers or the people that supposley cant find work when it seems like about every store or restraunt you go into has help wanted signs up,why not help support our school system for at least our children for an extra $50-$60 a year.Fred you must not ahve any children or grand children because you know as well as I do that if you did that you would help them in anyway if you could including providing them with a better car even if theirs stiil runs or new cloths even if theirs is still or provide them with medication when they were sick.We owe this to our kids to pass this bond even if you and sally dont like kids or so inconsiderate of others.have either of you been in one of the fayette schools latley.go visit any of the elementary schools and you will see why we need better buildings.do either of you heat with coal? well we have a couple of schools that still do.I have an idea maybe if the bond dont pass you 2 can go carry the coal in to keep the furnace going since you must not have anything better to do than put down children!!

Larry you can quote me if you like but don't put words in my mouth. Also I do not have to answer to you or anyone else. And no, I don't plan on carrying coal. haha. Sorry.

If the BOE includes a comprehensive change in how teachers are paid and evaluated, and the good teachers get paid better and crummy teachers get the boot then I might vote for the bond. Otherwise let the whole system collapse dragging our local economy with it... maybe enough people will get off their asses and get involved and quit leeting stupid prevail.yea.

A little off topic but to shed some light on Fred & Sally. They are both racists and support each other on the KKK site which is also on the Oak Hll forum. You can check for yourself. So their opinion in my book is null and void.

Show me a comment that I have made on this forum that is racial or supportive of the KKK. I saw one comment that was racial and used my name. I made it a point to inform everyone that it was someone using my name. You are one evil bitch Jaelyn. You really have been drinking.

My apologies to you Fred. I do see where post #44 was with your name and then post #45 states someone used your name. So I do apologize. But Sally's comment #103 was definitely not nice nor called for. So I can't apologize to her.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
