Second trial set for Ohioan accused of drowning his wife

I don't think that young man did this crime, espically after watching the show on Dateline.

The thing that finally convinced me that he was innocent, was when they played the 911 tape of his intial call for help. When he was convicted and the judge allowed him to speak he had the same terror in his voice....you can't fake that.

I believe this young man is innocent,it is a shame that he lost his wife and now he is fighting for his life.

I am not so convinced. I think he did it. He has terror in his voice, but I think it sounds fake. I also think he was fake in court.

bottom line is you are innocent till proven guilty. Nobody should be found guilty w/out absolute evidence proving their guilt. Keyword being ABSOLUTE(WITHOUT a shadow of a doubt

He is an abuser who drown his wife. Prosucutor Rachel Hutzel is a hero for seeing through his lies and now she must do all of her work again because of some slimeball attorneys. Just so happens was the same attorney that defended a man that burned his children and stabbed his wife. That weak abuser got off easy by killing himself in jail waiting for his trial. Widmer will not slip away so easily and Rachel Hutzel will make sure of that and maybe elected to a higher position (judge) when this is all said and done.

There are a lot of innocent men in jail because of over zealous prosecutors!
I seen her act too hasty on other cases.

If he had abused his wife I am sure some of her family and friends would have known it, so far you are the only one that I have ever heard mention that as a motive.

He is not innocent. He was already proven Guilty ONCE.........he just got lucky..........He'll be back in Prison soon.

Remember - The evidence has already proven his guilt in a court of law and it will do so again. In the interest of appeasing all the coffee house lawyers he must be granted a new trial because a couple of jurors decided to see for themselves how long their own bodies would dry after a shower. Their own test is what convinced them Widmer deserves a prison term. Even though they performed these unauthorized tests, there were several others jurors that felt he was guilty without those tests. I can't say the man killed her because I wasn't there. But I know by his own actions and words that he has lied from the second he dialed 911.

Abuse is hidden some times if you love some one you hide alot and is becomes a sickness for that person.You hide it all from every one.Then one day it may be to late.
