It is very sad that this child died, but do any of us really know what these parents were trying to contend with?
We will be here on another day blaming the parents when one of these billy bad asses kills another, deals drugs, burns the school down, or kills one of his parents.
Parenting starts before the child is created and shameful it is that far too many allow their children to run around like terrors when they are small and then think that these same kids will behave and respect them when the teen years hit.
Train up a child in the ways he should go means first being stable yourself before bring a child into the world.
I am going to ask; where was his momma and why was he with stepmom and dad?
Are you serious??? What is wrong with you??? Who in their right mind would even consider doing what that couple did their poor kid who must have suffered a terrible death!

This poor child is in a better place, no more pain & terror can be inflicted upon him.
These parents need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. This is a civilized society, we do not tollerate blatent child abuse !!

How can you charge someone with murder when the autopsy hasn't been completed yet?
No one should ever be tied to a tree for any reason and that type of punishment is wrong. It is cruel and inhuman. But to charge someone with murder before all the facts are in is wrong too.
Uh Joey, are you in private practice or work for a larger firm?

I'm not ashamed to admit there were "times" with my child.
.... I "thought" about it! I think many parent do.
..........you just can't actually do it!
(I NEVER! imposed corporal punishment against my son... he's an adult now, and he still hates me).

A thorough investigation is necessary and psychiatric intervention for every member of the family should be done before any punishment. It is possible that ignorance, not hatred, is the key factor. In my opinion, the younger children should not be allowed to return to the home because it will take months before they can even comprehend this..

As despicable as this story is, these parents didn't come up with this on their own. I'm willing to bet any amount of money that they were only doing to this boy what had been done to one of them when they were his age. It's sad that neither of them stopped to think that perhaps this was not a good disciplinary method (even if they were subjected to the same treatment without incident).
I pray for the other two children. Maybe they'll be placed somewhere, shown love and be able to break the cycle of ignorance.
You are correct. The most important job we have in our lives, to be good parents, is not taught or mandated to us. We most often do exactly what was done to us. Unfortunately, punishment like tying someone to a tree, a post in the basement, to the bed when very little, is more common that you would believe. Is this going to kill your child? It didn't kill you..just warped the hell out of you...but you do it again. Poor kid. He should have run father. Does anyone have an answer to the perpetuation of this behavior?

Republicans, do more to assist poor-people than Democrats, ever have. Is Unemployment, higher, or lower, when Repulicans, are in control?

That's an easy one... Republicans.

Take a look at this chart. See the last four spikes in unemployment levels? Those were under Bush II, Bush I, Reagan, and Ford.
