NC couple face murder in death of son tied to tree
A couple accused of tying their 13-year-old son to a tree for two nights to punish him for disobedience has been charged with murder in his death, authorities said Friday.

I have a 13 year old son. Stories like these make me appreciate him more. Good days or bad. He was just a child at 13. Horrible.

Er, Sorry to contradict, Mr T, but actually they do.... cats, rodents and other animals sometimes smother the weakest of the litter if food is in short supply; kittens are vulnerable to tomcats, who sometimes see them as in the way. But we are not cats or rats; this despicable act by those parents was inexcusable! |

I have some real nice trees in my front yard....someone bring some bring some plastic ties, etc...and we can teach these 2 sickos a lesson. Whatever time they get for their crimes won't be as bad as what this child got!!

I have a 13 year old son. This is horrifying. Anyone can be a mother/father a child, but not everyone can be a parent.

As despicable as this story is, these parents didn't come up with this on their own. I'm willing to bet any amount of money that they were only doing to this boy what had been done to one of them when they were his age. It's sad that neither of them stopped to think that perhaps this was not a good disciplinary method (even if they were subjected to the same treatment without incident).
I pray for the other two children. Maybe they'll be placed somewhere, shown love and be able to break the cycle of ignorance. |

How can you charge someone with murder when the autopsy hasn't been completed yet?
No one should ever be tied to a tree for any reason and that type of punishment is wrong. It is cruel and inhuman. But to charge someone with murder before all the facts are in is wrong too. |

Somebody need to tie them to a tree in 100 degree weather with no water for a month. How do you treat a human being like this and what's so sad their own child. May this young man rest in peace and knowing he don't have to endure this type in treatment in heaven. How long did this poor child had to go through this.
