I feel bad for those workers that labor at Four Corners Power plant. They have to actually breath all toxic air, because they are in the core of the toxic mess. But they get paid alot money for it too and somehow they charge their customers higher rates for their nulls.

FCPP has spend millions of dollors for upgrades to REDUCE the EPA fines that are regularly leveled against it the plant. The FCPP will never meet the regulations, they can only reduce the fines. Paying fines is a regular part of the budget, it is part of doing business.
Wake up San Juan Citiens Alliance, stop fight natural gas production and recognize the potential for a cleaner community.
This is such a load of crap they had to start a second pile. You show your ignorance with such comments.

The air in the 4C region is cleaner than that in Scottsdale. The last time I flew over the area there was a nice brown cloud over Phoenix and blue skies over 4 corners. Feel sorry for yourself.

Your an idiot!
Do I really need to explain why?
Why don't you step into year 2009, The Inefficient, ancient, coal fired power plants can't begin to produce the same amount of clean energy as the natural gas that is pushed out of this Basin. They could build 5 NG power plants that would each double the output of the current power plants and do it 1000% cleaner.
Obviuosly, you work at the power plant and it has given you and many other a good life ($). But don't get the truth twisted and think you know anything about veiwing the world throught an untainted lense.
HA,HA,HA, cool for calling me an IDIOT. Yeah the ancient boilers are still kicking A--. Yeah I stepped into the future 2009, I realized we have a different color President. You can just follow him. I don't give a flying hoot. Yeah, come to the rez and have some mutton stew at the new cafe. NAVAJO HOOTERS. AAAAY.

Though electric decisions lie ahead.

Thu Oct 02 01:00:00 CDT 2008 A new study released this week highlights what experts have been saying for years: the U.S. faces significant risk of power brownouts and blackouts as early as next summer that may cost tens of billions of dollars and threaten lives.

The study, "Lights Out In 2009?" warns that the U.S. "faces potentially crippling electricity brownouts and blackouts beginning in the summer of 2009, which may cost tens of billions of dollars and threaten lives." ...

Some posts suggest that altenergy may not work.

From actual experience, wind farms produce 1.2 watts per square meter. Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic methods capture 5 to 6 watts per square meter. There is no economy of size in either technology. Dividing the watts you need by those values gives the land area in square meters needed to produce the juice. The numbers are astronomical

Chairman, President and CEO Questar Corporation Keith O. Rattie said on April 2, 2009

Why did my generation fail to develop wind and solar? Because our energy choices are ruthlessly ruled, not by political judgments, but by the immutable laws of thermodynamics. In engineer-speak, turning diffused sources of energy such as photons in sunlight or the kinetic energy in wind requires massive investment to concentrate that energy into a form that's usable on any meaningful scale.

We may be using fewer BTUs and likely more expensive BTUs in the future.

Yeah, why let logic stand in your way when you can fall back on the liberals crutch - name calling.

Not a snow bird. Just a full time Ohio resident who understands the rigors of living in 4 seasons and what is required to feed electrical power to a bunch of know-it-alls that start bitching the second the lights go out.

I am not bitching when the lights go out. I am a city Dine'(Navajo) who grew up on the rez and knows how to survive urban or rez, buster!

BTW, everytime Ohio State plays football they lose!
Got creamed by Texas in Fiesta Bowl and Florida too.

It would be interesting to find out how many people are coming down with illnesses and brain tumors caused by the pollution. A study is in order.

I'm happy to have an ash cloud drifting around in my neighborhood. It keeps me from seeing the fat-wrinkly-saggy biker lady next door, walking around in her seethru t-shirt trying to turn on the guys at night. Thank you APS.

I think a study of fry bread and mutton should be implemented, in finding out how many people come down with illnesses related to stomach cramps and excessive fecal discharge.

Not that the subject is football but it does point out the second liberal ploy when their logic fails - change the subject.

Not that I care, not a football person, but Ohio has won the Fiesta Bowl 3 times since the last time Arizona managed to make it to their own house.

Yes, they did get beat by Texas in 2009 by a field goal. That is hardly creamed.

Yeah, that's why area Phoenix valley has two options if the lights go out, SRP or APS.

...btw, I am not a UofA football fan. Big 10 football is weak and over rated! Go Pac-10!

Bill, got your request for answer to the following questions. I have an inquiry into our generation folks and will be in touch. Thanks. db

1 What is the purpose of the PNM Algodones solar facility?

2 Is the PNM Algodones solar facility connected to the grid?

3 What is the CAPACITY FACTOR of the PNM Algodones solar facility by month from September 2007 through March 2009?

Please provide a plot similar to the ITRON SGIP Figure 3-1.

4 How many kWh [kilowatt HOURS] of electricity per month from September 2007 through March 2009 does the PNM Algodones solar facility produce? Table presentation please.

5 What is the average peak output [kW] of the PNM Algodones solar facility for each hour [24] for each month of the year from September 2007 through March 2009? Table presentation please.
