FARMINGTON — The Navajo Tribal Council has not released the legal findings that prompted it Monday to place President Joe Shirley Jr. on administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of his ethical, civil or criminal involvement with two companies on the reservation
TELL US WHAT HE HAS DONE WRONG RETALIATORS! I DIDNT VOTE FOR SHIRLEY AND AM NOT FOR HIM BUT THIS IS A WASTE OF RESOURCES AND IS SIMPLY REVENGE! THROW OUT THE 48 NUMBSKULLS WHO VOTED FOR THIS! |

During this crucial time when the Navajo Voters are confused over the ill-conceived actions of the Navajo Council,I think it is time for the Navajo Nation Justice Department to take over and manage the Special Election to vote on a Referendum to Shrink the Council Delegates and President's Line Item Veto. Even if it means postponing the Special Elections for a month or two. Letting the Navajo Election Administration continue to sabotage and hinderance will only linger on with no results, because the Edison Wauneka, Director of Navajo Election Administration is a stunch support of the runaway Council.
The legitimate officials who should be indicted are: Allen Begay, Director of Navajo Economic Development and Chili Yazzie for their corrupted involvement and handling of defunct BCDS in Shiprock. All others named in the investigative report is a sham. |

sail through Mr. Shirley!
I didn't vote for you but..... innoncent until proven guilty! |

This movie ain't over yet. The CDs must be held accountable also before they start planning their xmas junkets. I expect White collar crime to work with federal authorities to quickly move in and raid Speakers office and indict several people for hiding income, theft from a tribal organization, bribery, and a slew of other crimes. Many of them will be looking for support and crying for sympathy but there will be nothing for them.

Such charges against President Shirley are ridiculous! While I'm not his biggest fan, these allegations are merely just that: allegations. He has not been indicted or found guilty of any charges whatsoever.
Speaking of the alledged "fraud" and "crime" that was perpetuated, the Navajo Nation Council also signed off on those same documents. The President could not get approval for OnSat or BCDS without approval of the Navajo Nation Council and their oversight committees. These contracts undergo the SAS 164 review process that allows the Council to scrutinize these contracts. As far as I'm concerned, the actions of the Council are shameful, despicable, and is further proof that they need to be reduced in size. I hope their actions backfire and highlight the strong need for government reform. These 80 council delegates cannot and should not be allowed to undo the will of over 36,000 voters who elected President Shirley as Navajo Nation President. |

Farmington is hastily constructing a treated water supply system to sell water to the Navajo Nation. This will give Farmington politicians complete control over the San Juan Chapter's and Shiprock Chapter's water supply. Water is life, do you want Farmington's politicians controlling yours. SPEAK UP NOW, before it is too late. |

I don't about "sailing through". Winter is coming and it's snowing here in SW Colo. If the water freezes his boat might not sail at all. Still waitin for the report and what laws were broken.

Good show! wondered when all this would come out. Man they "farmington" are sucking the border injuns dry.. Lets move the Walmart across the river and give them a big tax break and the comsumers. |

Hmm....sounds like a great time for billable hours for attorneys that are doing work for the Nation!! Here's an idea - utilize your own Dept of Justice. oh wait, that won't work cuz then you won't get those cool gift perks when Christmas rolls around from all your lawfirms.

It is sad to see our NN elected officials in a dirty political slugfest. It is downright embarrasing to say the least. I would think our top officials would be more professional and respectful than they have acted and shown up to now. C'mon on Man, get your acts together or get out of the way (resign).

of course, this is all about the council stalling the initiative that the Prez has done for all of us, as Navajo people. no Prez has ever done this for us in History of our government. this is to eliminate all the waste, fraud, unethical practices by the council so we can more students receive scholarships and in other needed areas.
look at the delegates, they voted the LGA of 1998 but look at the Chapters, there are only a few that are certified (small ones), that means there is still no accountability, all the wasted resource. |

Ben Shelly is in charge now? No wonder Window Rock is freezing over.*LoL*

First he calls himself a Dr. and now he wants to be a sailor. I think it's only an opinion people. The B.I.A. should take back over, they gave us a reservation to live on , they give us money and we just EPH it all to peices. Right now people in Washington are probably shaking their heads and commenting "what a bunch of idiots" just like those indians on horseback in the Chevy Chase movie Vacation as they were watching him run through the desert. It's clear now that Navajos can't even run their own government or Nation. What an embarrassment. Thats all, now go ahead and throw your comments my way, like I said from the start this is only my opinion. Take it or leave it.

What has the current Navajo president and tribal council accomplished in the past 7 years? Nothing. Shirley & staff and speaker/council & staff all need to be removed, and stop all travel to Vegas. Yep, the attorneys are enjoying big checks while most elder Navajos don't have enough wood or food for the coming winter. Sad.

This is ole Navajo Rez politics. Everything will be fine once we get some money on the Rez, if any. SAD thought, very SAD.

All Shirley needs to do is fire P. Sandavol and S. Cowboy!!
|
||||
Exactly! This is embarrassing. Please Navajo Nation give up sovereignty! |

1 You sound like an old BIA bureaucrat and you must be a Mormon, too. |
||||
|
Do you think Lynda Lovejoy would be in this mess? Heck no!
|
||||
Are you kidding the B.I.A. wouldn't let Mormons in. FYI I am neither, just a red blooded Navajo Indian. I wouldn't dream of being Mormon either. |
