Oops, meant to put this under Honey Jug name:

OK, I couldn't find the original blog, but just had to say this:

Went to Honey Jug last night. Hardly anyone was there. Despite my initial fears, they still had some of the Greek dishes! I even asked if they could make one of my favorites, even though it wasn't on the menu, and they did. I was back in Greek heaven. And the bill was REALLY low, despite several drinks on top of our meals.

I didn't try any of the "comfort" foods they are hoping to specialize in, but I'm just so happy they still have my favorite Greek options, the atmosphere remains the same (sadly, without the Greek music - they need to pipe something in, Honey Jug-ish music, perhaps?), and the service was still pretty good.

Also sadly, hardly anyone was there. I'm hoping the place survives for the mere fact that the GREEK FOOD IS GOOD! Please don't stop going there, Taverna lovers. The "ghost" of Taverna is still there, and if enough of us stay loyal, maybe we can keep it alive! Don't let the Olive Gardens and the Red Lobsters win. Support our struggling, local entrepreneurs.

We decided to try it Saturday. Got there about 1:30. Wasn't that busy. Was seated promptly and then waited almost 10 minutes before someone showed up. There were several dirty table around us and they were dirty the whole time we were there. Several people had finished eating and were waiting for checks etc. They all seemed feed up that it had been so slow. One table finally threw some money on the table and left before the ticket came. Fianlly waitress took our order and we waited again for it to come. (Actually came just about the time we were getting up to leave to go some place else). Order was wrong so they had to send it back. Food wasn't bad and price wasn't bad. Service SUCKED big time. Probably won't go back.

We went on Saturday, and they were extremely busy! The service was great, and so was the food. We did have to wait because the kitchen was backed up, but the servers kept coming by and checking on us, apologizing all the while! The food was worth the wait and we were very happy when we got the bill! Definitely try this place! You won't be sorry!

Who picked the name "Honey Jug"...that doesn't even sound like a place I would even consider eating. The Honey Jug? I would expect pole dancers...Heck, HOOTERS would be a better name than "Honey Jug".

I like the post above, must be one of the owners. But the Waters were "Apologizing all the while"? For what? Poor service?, cold food?, no Pole Dancers? Give me a break. I have learned never, never eat at a place that has a sign "Good FOOD, Help Wanted"....The cook generally has a Parole Officer.

I can't wate to eat at the "Honey Jug"...well, yes I can. There are a lot of really good places to eat in Farmington, I bet the HJ isn't one of them. But hurry, I doubt it will be in business long.

Terrible Service! If I could give it zero stars I would. We waited to be seated for 20 minutes and the place wasn't even close to full. There were open tables all over the place. A man then walked up and asked us if we preferred a booth or a table and we said booth. He walked off and we waited another 10 minutes. We were then sat at a table by a very rude hostess who said no booths were clean. We walked by 3 open, clean booths on the way to the table. We finally ordered after 10 more minutes of sitting. They told my wife that the coffee wasn't ready and they were brewing more and brought her a plastic cup with about 2 oz. of coffee. It took her a half hour to get us the coffee, after I had to ask if it was finally ready. After our food didn't come for another half hour, and the people who showed up after us had received their food and were already done eating, we decided we couldn't wait any longer and got up and left. When we told them we were leaving, they didn't even try to offer to fix the situation. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IN FARMINGTON. I have lived here all my life and usually love the restaurants here.

Sounds like Taverna/Honey Jug won't be with us much longer. Too bad. They had a good thing going, but they decided to arse around with success. They've got a good location, they ought to put in a restaurant.
Meanwhile, The Ore House in Durango keeps on, doing two or three things really well, and they're getting ready to celebrate their 40th year in business.

I think Honey Jug and 7 Woods will do very well. You need to expect some delays when you go into a new business. I have been to both places twice now. Service has always been exceptional, the food served hot and quickly, and the staff have always been polite, friendly and respectful.

Clearly, your experience was not enjoyed by everyone. Honey Jug is only a new name, not a new business with new management. What we need to EXPECT when we go into a restaurant is prompt, attentive service, clean tables and properly prepared food & drink. Most of us could probably cook perfectly good dishes at home. We go to restaurants for service and atmosphere. If a restaurant doesn't get those two things right, diners seldom give it a second chance. I hope both places do well, but I wouldn't bet (or spend) money on it.

One last comment... If you've had a problem with the service or the quality of the food, I ask you to come in and mention any problems to the management.

Hmm, i went there on Saturday and today. was seated immediately and received outstanding service from a hispanic male on Sat, and a young white girl today. Both were attentive and courteous even though I am a native male. the food was very delicious, and not expensive, especially the Gyro and greek salad i et today. I will definitely go back.

They should have offered Navajo Tacos, Mutton and Frybread. They'd still be in business next door at 7 Woods.
