Oh and better not let "latina of bloomfield" see this that one likes to butt in make you think your not right when you are.
Better get used to living with all the races and not acting like a KKK member. I read an artical that said by the year 2020 whites will be outnumbered in the United States. Better start making some changes! Ha Ha

You have to wonder about these racist people who choose to live in NM. If you don't like diversity, maybe Idaho would be a better fit for you, huh? Personally we're white but we like it here, we like that our neighborhood has many ethnicities, and that you see that diversity continue in area doctor's offices, schools, stores, local and state government, etc.
When we lived in Utah a bunch of old biddies had appointed themselves to patrol for "illegals". They actually drove around and demanded paperwork for any person that "looked illegal" (had browner skin). It was truly disgusting. There may be a lot of racists, and racial issues to work over here, but thank goodness it is not out-and-out racist like some places.
I am really cautious of those attitudes developing in my kids, whether overtly racist (all x people are causing all the problems in our country) or more subtly (feeling more nervous around a group of black teens than a group of white teens). There is obviously still work to do but it will be easier here in NM where they can see that people of many ethnicities can function in all positions in NM society.

Well said, "eme". Ahehee'. And thank you to FDT editor, Mr. Hogan for finally removing some hate speech from this forum.

Like graffiti, if you don't clean it up, it just proliferates.

Where did you live in Utah that experienced such openly Nazi-esque behavior? That is really pathetic. Utah can be very conservative, adn really Wonder-bread-white sometimes, but many LDS people are very welcoming of other nationalities, and those who are deserve credit for it.

You've got to be kidding me!! I arrived after the first remark was removed....
How in the world did an article on the weather provoke yet another racial remark in this forum????

SHEESH!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yea, I stopped by to say I do hope we get the rain. As long as people use their heads in arryo's and washes.. the planter boxes downtown could sure use the rain... and maybe it'll be good for the tomatoes, I'm still waiting for local grown ones.

There appears to be a technical issue, for some reason comments left on a different story are coming here. I've notified Topix, and they are looking in to the problem.

No, actually it was several racists who wrote comments that they hoped the hurricane would "blow away" Native and Hispanic peoples. Fortunately, God is NOT on their side.

The only diversity here is Mexicans. I've lived with diversity in New Jersey, this is not a place with a diverse group of people.

what is wrong if a hurrican blew away the navajoes and mexies? it would make it a better place, no doubt. but hopefully it will not blow away the good navajos or mexican......because there are really a few good ones in this town, not many tho.
Look who's back...I guess nap time is over local psychiatric hospital. Be a good little boy and go take your meds now, before the voices really kick in and you start cutting yourself again. You probably need to ask one of the male nurses to change your "Depends", too.

Apparently you are an outsider to our Four Corners area then. I am curious about your experiences with diversity in New Jersey. What groups lived there, and how did they get along?

I'm not sure I agree... last year for the 4th parade I managed a float with Native, Anglo, Hispanic, and Black kids.... It seems the only group I missed was Asian

Diversity was the point of the float..... and a cool float it was too....
