Being a prior K-9 officer, I was impressed with the dog and handler's control. The hard work in training this dog shows in the professional way this situation was handled.

I agree they are great dogs with professional handlers.

I am big animal person I do what I can to help those animals who need help on the streets, some body tell me why we dont have human and animal shelters on ther reservation where it most needed. I am navajo living in salt lake city, but when I go visit relative in farmington or shiprock it makes me want to cry.

So you can use dogs to suit your purposes, but you can't protect an abused dog from a known perpetrator?!
That jerk Nuenchande (sp?) should never be allowed to have a pet again, much less return to him the dog he dragged behind his truck and punched. For a PD that says it's progressive etc..it's downright backwards!
You have it in your power to remove the dog from him and put it in a loving home...please do your duty.

Well....that would be up to the Navojo Nation. The should do something to create a program. Plus alot of the people out there on the rez do not seem to care about having their animals run loose, breeding and bredding.
