I'd like the rest of the world to comment on our lovely local Division of Family Services and Child Protection and Welfare agencies. I know of a female in Farmington who has abandoned her child, become a drug addict and has no job. Yet upon several reports to the MO DFS, NOTHING is done about it. Yet if your child brings a fork to school in their backpack...DFS will put your child in foster care for bringing weapons to school.

This has to be the Danielle Campbell story. She abandoned her 4 yr old little girl for her meth making boyfriend and some drugs. She went to North County High School but never graduated.

This activity is very common throughout southeast and rural Missouri. Iron County has the same thing. A mother, who was a drug addict, alcoholic, and more left her son in the care of her mother. The only time the boy ever saw his mother was when she came to borrow or steal from her mother to support her habit.

Thats the story with this girl. She apparently has no intention of seeing her daughter.

So is this a story that has been put in print? Or are we just talking? I looked in paper and I don't find anything? I know the family haven't seen them in a long time. Can't belive that dani has went that far down hill, if this is true. She a few years ago was a good mom and was raising her sweet little girl! I will keep them all in my prayers!

Its happening all over mothers are letting ther parents or grandparents raise ther kids its sickening and then the only time they see ther children is when they go to steal or beg for money the state does nothing and the parents or grandparents allow it. I know dani a lil and she did use to be a good mother i know the babys father and her did hav a bit of a drug thing goin on but i did not think she was that bad into it. I hope she gets her shit straight that baby girl needs her momma..

I know what everyone means. I have dealt with dfs in st. francois and may I say it took me 2 years to get out of an abusive home because no one would ever take it seriously. It is very frustrating. Now 2 friends of mine are dealing with the same thing and dfs told them that they were lying and that it wouldn't matter even if it was true because they are teenagers and nobody would take them. Where are the people who are supposed to help and why aren't they doing anything?

I've tried to deal with DFS.I am a grandparent raising my grandchild. Both her parents are deadbeats dont pay a dime of support on her.Have little to do with her.All we can qualify for is a little TANF.Any other benefits our income is considered and we make too much money. No foodstamps,no vender because we both work.As we all know what little you get on TANF does not take care of a childs needs. But her mother went and had another child and draws full benefits on that child. She does not work due to her chemical dependency problem cant hold a job.Our system sucks

I called DFS on a woman who bragged about taking out insurance policies on her two kids (then aged 5 and 7), then let them play in a very heavy-traffic road. The neighbors found the girls, had them for 8 hours, then finally started asking around town. The grandparents (thank goodness they lived close) claimed the girls. The mother was asleep in her trailer with the doors locked.
I called DFS regarding the situation - anonymously from a payphone - when I found out what happened. The Lady "Lori" on the other end of the phone said "Look, we have been out there 6 times already, please quit making false calls". Can you believe that?!? I never called before! Apparently, they had a lot of calls before hand, and they either called to let the mother know they were coming, or they just did not catch her in the awful act of neglect and abuse when they showed up. The mother eventually gave up her kids, now has like 4-5 more kids, living on welfare, no job, in rural Potosi - a trailer of course.

I am a great aunt of a 11 month old baby taken from my teenage neice for drug use . she was put into foster care with strangers I have tried to get them to do a back ground check on me so i can bring the baby home to be family instead of strangers . They say I live to far away to beable to get the baby back with her mother ( which by the way is doing nothing to try to get her child back ) I only live 1 hour and 15 minutes from the mother . the case worker told the Judge I live over 5 hours away so they would not cencider me at all . Does anyone have any advice on how I could get my great neice ?? thank you

How about you try working for the state. There are rules (stupid rules some of them) but rules and even if this lady is a cracked out POS, DFS can not take them unless they have proof that the kids are in danger and just bc she has no job does not mean that.

I have my 2 kids my wife ivy stevens left my 16 month son an 5 yr daughter at a park in aug 2010. They where there for 3 hours before she called anyone. We reported it to the police in park hills an they told us it was a dfs problem call them. We did an they told me it was a police problem. My lawyer told me to let her see the kids or she could use it against me. So on xmass she came over an said she would never come back again. I ask her to write a letter to my kids telling them why she wasn't around anymore she wrote a statement of how she sold my my daught to a child offender when she was a baby for tatoos an how the police found my daughter 3 time outside naked in iron mountain lake an had to wake her up an even how she left them in a park and beat on them dfs said there was no proff even with my 5 year daughter telling how she choked her. An with the statement the daily jouranl wouldn't even print it . The truth of the matter is because she a woman they didn't care. An if there a heaven an hell everyone that work with the case should be looking down to where there headed

Dfs in st francois county is a joke. i know of a case of a boyfriend of a mother who beat a 5 year old child with a belt on a bare butt, bruising the child, and the case was dropped with no investigation . this type of thing happens all the time. i think the way it works in this county is a child has to be hospitalized or dead for someone to take notice. animals get better treatment. when a animal is taken out of the home, they are never given back. where are our values, who is going to speak for these children?

my 3 year old Grandson is being abused, emotionally and sexually
by his every other weekend dad and grandmother, the dad is bi-polar, schitzophrenic, has mental illness; all this runs in his family
he self mutilizes himself, and he has attempted suicide 3 times that I know of; the most recent was 3 weeks ago. He is on and off his meds constantly.
He also has a history of Domestic Violence. He has a Daughter in Indiana and has supervised visitaion for these reasons. So they can't get to her.
The Dads mother tried to commit suicide 3 weeks ago. She has been molesting my Grandson. We have proof of all of this. My Grandson screams and cries
saying he does not want to go back there. He says Nanna plays with his winky, and daddy hurts him. His behavior is unreal. I am SO scared for him
it breaks my heart. My Daughter was never married to this guy, he moved in with her in a home that we owned, she worked; he didn't, then he stated receiving disability for ocd and bi-polar. we have all his medical records. He beat her up, threw her through a glaas table when she was pregnant, and a wall,
beat her up again, after she had the baby, choking, and had a knife to her throat, then kidnapped the baby. she called us, and we all went to his parents house
the dads mom and 4 other people had their hands on my daughter wouldn't let her get to her son, then he was a little over a year old. the dad left with the baby
and we followed meanwhile calling 911 the police showed up on the road, handcuffed me. and wouldn't let my Daughter get her son. they let him leave with
my Grandson and said my Daughter didn't have papers on her son. The dad and my Grandson went to park hills police and came to my daughters home
my daughter took the baby out of his truck, and the cop told me that I was not going to dictate what when on there.(In my own home) they said the dad didn't have to leave even after he had all his stuff out which was just his clothes and junk. We left taking the baby with us. the next day my daughter went and filed for an ex-parte; it was granted. 2 days later we went to court, the judge dropped the ex-parte saying there wasn't enough evidence.( My Daughter sat up there in from of the judge with bruises ALL over her) Nothing was said about the kidnapping. The judge put an ex-parte on my Daughter for his mother on hear-say
(She is a correctional officer) and he put one on my husband for his step-dad,(also a correctional officer) on hear-say (my husband is a paraplegic.) We went through 3 different attorneys they all was apparently for the fathers rights lobby. the first one said the judge was right that there wasn't enough evidence?
the second one threatened to quit if we didn't do what he said? he had a heart attack and sent us to another attorney, and he said are you ready to settle or
spend another 10,000.00 dollars, and if you go to court you will lose custudy.( we spent 20,000.00 dollars on attornetys fees.) My Daughter got scared and settled. The dad gets every other weekend and every wednesday, he lives with his mother. NOW, we called the cps and went to the court house to file a child protective order twice with different judges and the denied it. The cps said there wasn't enough evidence (after they talked to them) they did NOT call any of the witnesses on my Grandson's side. They are violating my Grandson's right to protection. They are lying. Saint Francios county needs to be investigated. My Grandson WILL NOT be another statistic! He WILL NOT go back there! correctional officers are not above the law and it does not give them the right to
sexually abuse or endanger a child! We need some help down here, please help my Grandbaby.

Are all of you aware the DFS can't actually take kids? There is an officer present when they do investigations and the final decision on whether a child is taken is determined by the police officer.

Lady with the grandson getting molested. Hotline DFS, they will send an investigator to speak with your grandson. If he discloses TO THAT INVESTIGATOR that this is going on then there will be a protection order put in place so he is not allowed those people and police with also start working on the case and see if they can hang em on it. But ur grandson has to tell the investigator himself. I would know, I'm an ex cop. That's how it works. End of story.

We did hotline them, they did investigate, my grandson would not talk, he is scared to death, that is normal. he doesn't talk to strangers. they said they called the witnesses, they did not. We went to the courthouse filed for a protective order twice, denied. my grandsons dads friend was there when the dad tried to commit suicide, the dfs is ignoring it as usual. the court is bias because the dads parents are correctional officers, this is not the first time this has happened. I have raised this baby because my daughter was protecting him from the abusing dad, the cops did NOTHING! They ALL sided with the dad. I am a grandmother, I was there I should know, and no this is NOT how it's going to work this time, My Grandson WILL NOT be going back out there again, That would be endangering the welfare of a child, and violating his rights to protection,(under the 14th amendment) they all violated my Daughters rights,(not again) and no, this is not end of story. cops, judges, lawyers correctional officers are NOT above the law, it DOES NOT give them the right to abuse anyone! sorry!

take all these abuse stories to jeff. City. Have the dfs dep. Overturned completely..nd yes a police officer is present but only if the child is being taken from the home the officer however does not have say so on whether or not the child should or should not be removed from the home or premises they are there to ensure the parents or said accussed are not a threat nd do not get in the way of the removal and i do know i grew up as a foster kid..these things that i just read disgust me and to think there are people that are supposed to be taking action and do not is completely warped.and their should be a organization that designates a individual too a few cases and are the childrens voice in court until age 13 thry are sometimes called a guardin enlightum (sp?) nd id also recommend getting a lawyer outside of said county that way they are not influenced by the higher ups in ur community..i hope this helps..
