You're right. We will never have the same sense of justice because in the case of gays there is nothing to correct. Imagine if black people had the income gays have, if black people had the influence in media, government and entertainment...
1. Are you saying that there are no blacks in any position of influence? At last count, there were over 40 in the House of Representatives currently and there is one black Senator from Illinois (the other one became President). Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton hold tremendous power. There are 5 black CEO's in the Fortune 500. Here in Chicago, there are numerous Black newspeople. Last time I checked, the most powerful woman in media was Oprah Winfrey. Hip-Hop, traditionally a black musical art form, is currently the number one form of popular music. So don't tell me that blacks don't have influence.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>Why? The only thing we ever wanted was the opportunity to earn money and take care of our families. We never expected or demanded that anyone tolerate us or love us or even value us...
Then why the cracks about "Whitey" during the 60's and 70's? Why does Chris Rock have a whole segment of his show about, "Crackers"? Why the term "White Devil" or "White She-Devil"? There's more than one way to demonstrate feelings of inferiority.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>Gays try to demand what cannot be given by a court, or vote. Gays want esteem from the outside world because they don't have it in themselves. They lack what blacks have, the knowledge that God had created us and loves us...
Gays lack the knowledge that God created us and loves us? You do realize that there are gay people who attend church, right? Gays don't want anything more than what we all have - the right to live their life the way they want. I find it interesting that a people who were once denied just about every freedom in the world cannot understand why another group would be upset over being denied a basic right enjoyed by all Americans as well.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>To change laws we did not have to parade filthiness in the street like gays. We didn't demand that governments force five year old children and younger to hear about sexual practices. All we had to do to remind them of the unjust position is stand quietly in opposition to them...
Have you watched a Hip-Hop video lately? Followed the story of Michael Vick? Listened to "Gansta" Rap? Right or wrong, these are the people who are representing Blacks and Black Culture. You don't think that's filthiness? And those examples you listed are extremes, just like Malcom X and the Black Panthers.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>I just don't feel any guilt when I see all the power and money gays have. They already have everything we have ever asked for.
Except the freedom to be viewed as a worthy of the rights of an American Citizen.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>Now they want to be treated special. They want to change the definition of words so that they can do what they want. Marriage is God made, not man made. So man has no right to twist and corrupt it.
1. Man made marriage. Marriage was happening long before we worshipped one God. The Greeks did it. The Romans did it. The Egyptians did it. Marriage is a man-made institution for the inheritance of goods and land.
2. Gays don't want to be treated special, they want what everyone else already has.
3. I recall during history that definitions were changed to allow blacks the right to be free and the right to vote. Nobody seems to complain about that now.
mktmom wrote:
<quoted text>God stood on our side...We will continue to stand on His side and say no to this abomination in His sight.
This, my dear, is why so many have been denied "the power and money gays have". Instead of sitting back and waiting for "God to deliver", Gays went out and worked for it.

I love when people try to pass of Christian fear as "normal understanding". Judeo/Christian disdain of homosexuality comes from two sources:
1. The Greeks (and to a small extent the Romans) used to do it. They are the old, Heathen way, so what they did must be "against God's will".
2. If you're having homosexual sex, you're not producing more Christians, so that had to stop. That and masturbation. And safe sex.

No, we don't. That society has the potential to be manipulated and abused in ways that history has taught us can be quite horrific. We need a new society, based on logic, fairness and reason. We need to understand that personal Faith should not be used to influence policy. Keep your Faith in your own home and in your Church, but use your reason and logic and look at the evidence when making social policy. Morality is not the property of the religious, it is shared by all and can be properly applied without the use of the Bible.

My immoral lifestyle brings me emptiness and prevents me from owning up to my latent homosexual nature. Luckily I can't have children after multiple STDs destroyed my sex organs.
My violent abuse of women gets out of control and one day I will go to prison where I will discover my homosexual cravings. They will be satisfied by Bubba.

I never mentioned Christianity or any other religion and its not fear just disgust at perversions like child molestation, homosexuality, rape. Ask Joe public and he will agree with me. You and your kind bring the human race down to the level of animals.

You don't have to. The very opinion expressed is worded exactly as it is in Judeo/Christian teachings.
Balanced view wrote:

It's not fear? Then how do you explain putting consentual relations between two adults in the same category as pedophilia and rape?
rape
n.
Unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against the will usually of a female or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent

pedophilia
n.
Sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object

Homosexuality fits neither of those definitions, in word nor deed.
And yes, it is fear. Fear of something that you don't understand. Your "disgust" is only part of the fear.
Balanced view wrote:

Joe Public is not concerned with fact nor truth, but only what his trusted sources tell him is fact or truth. And, incidentally, it's closer than you think and has been rising in favor of same-sex marriage since the poll was first put out in 1996:

Why, because I don't wish to deny someone something because of their personal practices? Why the hysteria?

All your posturing and gay media count for nothing. You are either mentally deficient and cannot distinguish right from wrong or more likely just a pervert who will not control his behaviour. You have the attitude "I will do what I want and nobody will tell me what to do" anarchy and the regression of civilisation is coming because of weak people like you.

Merriam-Webster is "gay media"? And who's posturing?
Balanced view wrote:

Wow, those are the two choices, huh? Let's look deeper at each hypothesis:
1. Mentally deficient/cannot distinguish right from wrong.
- Well, I'll let my ability to write clear and grammatically correct sentences handle the deficient part. And as far as "right from wrong", I know that, in this country, we hold fast to the idea that "All men are created equal" and that applies to ALL MEN not just the ones you approve of. So, to deny someone a right for no reason except personal views is wrong.
I also know, that there is only one universal definition for something that is wrong - when one knowingly and without remorse causes unwanted harm to another.
Balanced view wrote:

In my own house and at no one else's expense? You're damn right.
Balanced view wrote:

I've always found it very interesting how people can delude themselves into such incredible extreme consequences when faced with proposals such as same-sex marriage and other similar topics. Anarchy? Do you really think that once same-sex marriage is legally recognized that all the governments in all the world will just toss all the laws at the same time? And you call me mentally deficient.
Regression of Civilization? I think that's what you want to have happen. The recognition of same-sex marriage is actually a PROGRESSION of Civilization. It shows that, as a Society, we've stopped judging others on who they choose to love and more on their actual actions.
And am I really the weak one? I have the strength to move beyond religious and "traditional" views and make an un-biased, educated decision. You're the one who's weak, because you shroud yourself in ignorance and aren't brave enough to break free.

Well I agree all men are created equal but you are not a man you are just someones bitch and although animals have rights, to get married is not one of them.
I am so glad we agree that being gay is a choice, where you state you have the strength to make an un-biased, educated decision to be gay you prove my point. I allowed you the possibility of being mentally weak but you decided you were strong and wanted to make it clear you are just an old pervert like all gays.

LOL! I wasn't talking about being gay, you jackass. I was talking about having the strength to break from the archaic Judeo/Christian views of homosexuality and be able to make an unbiased, educated decision about whether or not same-sex marriage should be legal.
As for me personally, I'm a happily married hetero male.
Regardless, all your snide comments and insults show your high level of ignorance. I'm not going to try to convince you as to why your association of being gay with perversion since my words will only fall on deaf ears. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. But realize that's exactly what it is, an opinion. Do not mistake it for fact nor try to pass it off as such.
BTW, give my regards to the guy who molested you.

Maybe you are not as good as you thought you were as your points were not clear. You say you are a happily married hetro male I was just wondering if your wife was happily married? I am sure it must be difficult for her married to a closet gay.

With your line of thinking I believe you are a closet idiot. Oh and a bigot racist.
You shouldn't talk about negros now that we have a magic negro for a president.
Grow up and then come back to pick a fight junior.
