the articles just seemed to be little snippets of information thrown together. there was no discussion about how students dress inappropriately for school as if they are going to a club; no comparisons to other countries where mostly all students wear uniforms. uniforms seem to assist in common decency where teenagers and their parents fail.

The kids have the research and the logic on theri side. The most recent large study, comparing two Florida systems, showed no improvement with a uniform policy. Parents who care about their kids education should know that unifoms have a negative impact on high school academic achievement--it is a small one, but might be the difference between a first-choice colege and a second, or college or no college, or graduation or no graduation. Is it worth that risk just so you can say you are following along with a fad that is already dying out in the places which started it?

If the negative impact on academic achievement in schools with a uniform policy is small, it can be overcome considering a student's first choice college, or no college or even no graduation. If a student is allowing their academic achievement to slip because of a uniform policy, putting their goal of college or even graduation on the line, that student didn't have the desire in the first place.
A uniform policy would level the playing field, so to speak. If all students dressed the same there wouldn't be any envy over how another student dresses, there would be no improper dress attire infractions, there would be no mocking students for what they wear. Everyone would be on an equal dress level. I think it's a great idea and should be implemented in all schools, especially in urban areas.

At my middle school they told us to wear uniform or we get suspended..
lls...no one ended up wearing uniform except for the 6th graders..
and a lor bit of 7th and 8th graders.

and the uniforms didnt really change anything. But the families that were in poverty that had kids at my school could barely afford regular clothes for their kids.

I am homeschooled and in seventh grade and I don't really like school-uniforms that much. I mean if I had to do it I like, wouldn't start a revolt hahaha but um I think they can be a pain in the neck. Oh and why are people talking about drugs and guys? Please stop.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Virgo

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
