Would be great if they were really here. It is Missouri Pacific in Falls City. You get sent all over the country at your expense, then you are reimbursed so, make sure you have a large limit credit card all the gangs are in California right now.

these jobs are for the falls city subdivision, you would work in F.C. or nebraska city or atchison, or st joe those are the only four areas to work on the falls city sub to work on. mopac guys do not go to california

Just like all other railroad job what are the chances of being laid off in 6 months? I mean all these jobs consit of are people out bidding other people for a better job. What job security do they offer?

Hubby has worked 9 years for U P, he has been laid off once for about 6 weeks, buy, the benefits are good, union if you have a problem, and he makes about $25 an hour, plus his expenses. he does go all over the country though. You need to be an understanding wife!!

ive been there over 10 years, laid off once for about 3 months. if you dont want a good job dont apply. its one of the better jobs for this area

Seniority is the name of the game on the railroad. You may get hired out for jobs in the Falls City area but you will be on a roster that covers a lot of territory. Simply meaning, that if they don't need you in the Falls City area, you will be forced to work somewhere else depending on what territory your roster covers. If someone else on that roster that lives in Kansas City for example wants to work in the Falls City area they could displace you. If projects or business declines in order to keep your place on the seniority roster you have to go where they need you and your seniority allows.

If you want to work in a particular area such as Falls City, I would ask the people doing the interviews, where is the farthest you would have to go to work or protect your seniority based upon the worst case scenario and what the roster you are being placed on has to protect.

these jobs are for the Falls City Subdivision, which runs from kansas City to omaha. the ONLY headquarters to work out of on this sub are as follows: Falls City, Atchison, Nebraska City, and St Joe terminal. If you cant hold on subdivision here you could go district and work a tie gang, or go on the bigger MOPAC System and work the Rail Gang, if you wanted. Your seniority is here and you dont have it out on the other gangs until you go, if you CHOOSE too

have to agree that UP railroad is awful

So what if you have to move around. The money is good. The insurance is greet, I think kid's these day's are lazy. They will find any thing so that don't have to work.It just makes me sick.

you noticed the brush and trees along the crossings? You are practically on the tracks before you can see?

You will get bumped one week your on days then next your on night. Fine I guess just don't make any future plans with your family because you'll never know if you can be there or not.
