What do you think of the new Time Warner Navigator? The old system worked far better than Navigator and I don't think Navigator should have been released to the public before they got the bugs out. They introduced a new crappy system AND tell me at the same time that my rates are going up, as if they weren't high enough as it was.

I agree with you 100%!!! The new system stinks!! I can't figure out how to get to the screen where it let's you either record all shows or new shows only. In the beginning I found it and then all the sudden I can't get it so if I delete a show after I watch it and it is replayed it rerecords it.

The new Navigator certainaly DOES stink!

Has anyone else noticed that now when you FF on your DVR that the program no longer "jumps back" a second or so when you hit the "Play" button as it did before?

The graphics are a lot harder to read, and the programming is much less user friendly. You can't just "jump ahead" in the guide into future days as we could before.

Has anyone else noticed that the "Local On The Eights" forecast on TWC is now about as worthless as the weather forecast on the back page of the newspaper?

C'mon, Time Warner...get with the program!!!

I'm just wondering if anyone has used TiVo or if it can be used in our area? That might be a solution to Time Warner's crappy Navigator system. I can't believe I have to pay for such a mess. The old system worked fine for me.

I can still jusmp ahead on my days but it is hard to "navigate". Atleast I haven't had to unplug it or call to have the box replaced yet, my old one was replaced 6 times over 2 years because the didn't tell me until 5th time to take it out of the entertainment center. I was burning up the hard drive.

We hate it too!

We had 3 series set to record at the same time so we canceled one and put it on our other DVR but the thing was acting so slow that we couldn't delete the other one. It recorded the one we didn't want. Luckly you can watch past shows on the WB online so we didn't miss it. But It Still Stinks!

I wish we could get Dish again but we can't get Dish and Roadrunner so It doesn't make sense to get Dish. I am now having a LOT of trouble with the new console It gets stuck all the time and some times it takes over a minute to unfreeze so it doesn't stop when your fast forwarding or rewinding right away and it takes forever to finally get where you want it to stop! I swear if we don't unplug it everyday it does this! I got a refund for the last month I had my regular DVR since it didn't work right 80% of the time. They should just quit charging for the use of the DVR and make it free since they aren't providing a "working" service!

Time Warner was "renting" the other system, which worked, and did not want to continue to pay their fees - including the new fee for caller id to pop up on the screen - while I can't blame them for that, they should have worked the bugs out of this system first - I bet the what Warner has paid out for overtime on the call centers and field techs, would have paid for the month or two payments on the old system and given them time to work out the bugs - but how are we to suggest such "frivolous" things - only the customers who make it possible for them to receive a paycheck!

We were hoping for something positive with the new Times Warner Cable Navigator. What resulted is poor. Gone is the stuff that made TWC DVR worth it, especially search by keywords. We had it set up to look for sports, old movies and shows; things that were not currently broadcast. Now, if you want to record Gone with the Wind or your old town baseball team, instead of setting up the Search by Keyword, you have to look through the guide every day. Good lock trying to find a Georgetown basketball game. No more rewind after fast forwarding, no more one button press to see when the show you are watching will come on next. The search by theme is worthless. Try going into Sports and then College basketball. 100 'folders' you have to open one at a time.

Times Warner is usually customer oriented. In this case, I am not sure. They looked at what worked and stopped doing it. I really hope they fix the DVR and Guide soon. ATT & Dish are looking better, but only because TWC has taken a huge step backward.

If your cable box is not getting enough air flow or the heat build up is not getting out of the case that will cause problems with the electronics and hard drive in your box the cooler it runs the better it runs. But if your still having problems you can get another box there is always that one box that has a problem.

Time Warner piloted the new Navigator here in Lincoln a year ago, and, believe me, it was hardly operable at first. Lincoln citizens threw fits, called, and complained. After about six months and several middle-of-night updates, it still didn't work as well as Passport did. Time-Warner was handing out free premium services and even cash refunds to lots of people here. It's still slow and unreliable today. Whenever I'm trying to check the future listings, and it freezes up, I curse Time Warner loudly!

I agree that the Navigator is rubbish. The old system was virtually flawless. My problems range from not being able to access the "Find Shows" feature at all to constantly having to delete the same shows from the scheduled recording menu, they keep coming back! Another annoying thing is that shows I set to record on a regular basis (nightly news shows, etc) sometimes record and sometimes do not. But the thing that has just recently begun to drive me crazy is that shows I set to record seem to start recording well after the show as started (at the regular time), in one case 25 minutes later. I hate Navigator, it is useless. How could they have imagined that this was any better?

Ours freezes constantly and we have to unplug it atleast once a week. The shows don't record, atleast 3 times a week. There are even some shows that delete before we delete them within 3 days of being recorded when there are only 4 other shows saved on it.

The old navigator used to be able to skip ahead in 15 minute increments.
Can you still do this?

Daily Horoscope for September 9

Gemini

The luminous Moon lights up your fifth house of pleasure and romance, lifting your spirits and making the day pleasant in general. Happy dreams of a shining future may distract you during much of the day; this is fine unless you have a lot of work to do. If you can whistle while you work and take frequent breaks to stretch your legs and breathe fresh air, the day will fly by.
