Don't know if this is exaclty what you want or helps, but Nash Finch acquired the 14 remaining Hinky Dinky's in Nebraska in 2000. The names then changed to either Econofods, SunMart or Family Thrift Center. ALthough i'm not sure if the Falls City store was part of that 2000 purchase.

I believe there was 2 H D stores , one that closed in about`75.They tried to build out north of town. someone stopped them but don`t know why. Does anyone remember this? The second was in the same building as Sunmart.

Safeway was originally where Dr. Tramps office is
now. Then moved to where Armbrusters Car lot is on Harlan. Then moved to where sunmart is now.
Hinky Dinky was originally in the area where A&G
resturant is now(some buildings burned in that area). Then moved to 15th and Harlan where Subway
is now. Then moved to where Sunmart is now.

The old Whittens Market that turned into the Red Barn Diner?

Ace was built as Jack and Jill. Fleskoski's Food Basket was closer to Harlan street. Big white concrete block building.

I believe Fleskoski's built the new building which
is now Ace. They then sold it to Howells who sold
to Drubas.

When Hinky Dinky was here in 75 . They wanted to building where the New swimming pool is now. The Town fathers didnt want them to build out there . Because it was going to be a small shopping mall. with about 7 stores . At the time Gisons or Pamida was going out there also. The town fathers wanted the stores where Pamida is now & where the Library is . Hinky Dinky pulled out after that . The Ceo said he was his own company boss & not the city . That is when the city also started to get less people here . At that time Falls City had about 5000 people . Hinky Dinky was a good store back then . Also Safeway the kid kids made better money that alot of people do today .
