What kind of moral lesson is it to have an innocent (jesus) sacrificed so that sinners can be forgiven?

If a man kills a little girl, would it be moral (and logical) for a completely innocent person to step up and say, "Let the murder go! I will serve his sentence!" That would never fly in the real world, yet it is as seen as "god's love" when it comes to the religious people.

According to teachings, Jesus was a scapegoat. I teach my kids that they must suffer the consequences of their actions.

You present an interesting perspective, Truth.

Some people may say that Jesus's sacrifice was an extreme example of unconditional total love, and that other people should be inspired to love people they care about.

One challenge in teaching is that sometimes, other people learn lessons other than those intended. We can't always control the way people will perceive a situation.
