Organizers of the Crosby, Stills & Nash concert at Presque Isle State Park have announced a related boating and mooring restriction.

The restriction will be on a portion of Thompson Bay, starting June 22 at 6 a.m. and ending at midnight after the June 23 concert, officials said.

The whole thing is a crock of bullsh*t. When does a government agency close down for a private event? I'm sure the Park Rangers will be providing security at non participants expense! Yes, a benefit what exactly will benefit Presque Isle Partnership! The organization has to many people on the payroll! I'm sure there is government money available to refurbish the monument and it's not really that bad!
State Park Rules NO Alcohol ON THE PARK.. No, they won't be selling it but you have to buy a ticket? They will apply for a permit to serve alcohol and receive it. Anyone renting a pavilion this summer may apply for the permit also! Certainly not the Peoples Park it's all about the money and greed. I will never volunteer for any of the clean ups or support anymore of the walks at Presque Isle. Because of this organization many will be alienated from Presque Isle. I just hope there are no endangered birds nesting in the area.

Taxpayers cover a lot of expenses that are non- essential at the park. If the government is looking to save money they can do a much better job than they are doing now! How much does it cost to run the Marina, Lighthouse private residence, the Environmental Center? All this at the taxpayers expense how does this make the park a better place? It only enhances the visitors experience. People would still visit. Yes, I'm a typical Erie whackjob that works to hard to be denied the benefits of sitting on beach 11 and enjoying the breeze because some non-profit wants it for profit!

How does this concert fit into the mission of the Park? I think they could have picked a better venue.

how does having a marina and an environmental center prevent you from sitting on your beloved beach 1? i mean why would we want to enhance visitor's experiences? we should be seeking to make it the most miserable experience possible! great idea!

Point is this is a precious commodity it is being turned into a place to facilitate funds that are not directly used at the park or fit the mission of the park. These events do nothing but line pockets of so called non-profits. By the way I like Crosby saw him last time he was in town, remember the night before the concert the fiasco in the New York Hotel?

The Tom Ridge Environmental Church was a massive waste of money.
Also, it's very appropriate to ask about the salaries for people in the "Partnership".
Let's see the pay and perks!

The only pa law is no water skiing within 500 feet of shore of the peninsula and boats restricted to 100 feet from shore by designated swimming beachs. I want to see any regs that prohibit being in waters 100 feet from shore during the concert.

The boaters spend alot of money in Erie. What is the reason behind the closing? Why not take advantage of the boaters that will be purchasing fuel and food. Some spending money at our hotels and restaurants. Why not let this be an opportunity to showcase our town and it's waterfront?

Imagine if someone from out the the area came up to enjoy the concert from the water.....Maybe they will see the nice new convention center. Then book an event there.

We need to stop this from happening

Btw the good seats were 150 bucks. All that are left, if any, are the cheap 100 buck seats plus parking. Your yacht was/is not a free ticket, baby. If you really love the music, come sit next to me. And pass that over here.:-)

I will see this concert if I have to tread water behind a breakwall to do it. The rest of you who have objections are welcome to stay home and make it more enjoyable for the rest of us.

not yet. There are still. Plenty of cheap seats. It appears they will fill the whole beach with people at 100 bucks a pop if enough people come. And in reality, it doesn't matter if I'm there. Hope I make it, though.
