Have heard the Lewiston Communications will be adding high speed internet to the Snyder Lake Area. Anyone have any information or know when this will be complete?

Thanks!
Kevin

My fiance (by West Twin Lake) has been promised high speed for 2 1/2 years now. They keep saying it will be "in the fall" or "in the spring". My guess is that they are waiting to get a critical mass of people before they invest the money, but the number of 2nd homes in the area makes getting a critical mass rather difficult.

I hope they get it before we marry, or doing my job over the internet is going to be nearly impossible.

We have called each month since July... "one month", then August, "one month", again in September, "one month", now in October, "they have finished town and are heading down 489".

I have never heard of Lewiston Communications until now. I will check into it. I have a place over by the Marina near West Twin Lake. I have 3.0
Mbps DSL from Verizon. And I know they have it over by Garland. So be patient and you probably will get it soon.

Been in contact with Lewiston Communications since the spring about high speed. Just so you know, they are the current provider of cable TV in Lewiston. They just emailed me this last week and said that it is now available in my region (Big Wolf Lake) for $25 a month. I wrote back to see what speed that was quoted for and have now got a response yet. There new email address is lewiston@lewistoncomm.com . I guess lewistoncomm is the domain that they're using. Before I signed up in the spring, I wanted to know how good it was from people that have already signed-up.

Verizon DSL is only available in an area within a 3 mile radius of downtown Lewiston which is not very far. I am just over the fringe of that area so my Verizon phone line does not qualify (Big Wolf Lake). Lewiston's Cable TV, now renamed Lewiston Communication, is now adding High Speed to it's services (finally!). See my comments about this in another trend.

Spoke to Lewiston Communications again. They have made it down 489 to Tee Lake Road with no ETA for Snyder Lake. You are required to bundle the broadband with cable for a minimum plan of $51. Unfortunately, they are only offering 512Kb.

For those waiting for broadband on Snyder Lake -- It's finally here!! Lewiston Communications (800) 443-0758

Pricing is $40 without cable TV and $25 if you have cable TV.

I live near the marina by West Twin lake and I have had Verizon DSL for two years now. I would give them a call again.

I have been trying to get something other than dail up for the past 7 years. I caLLED Lewiston Communications the other day and they offer cable internet. I am in the moon lake area and it's 40 dollars a month for none cable members, there is no contracts and they will rent a modem to you or you can get your own for around 70 dollars. I hope this information helps.
