Define hope. If your hope is another ill-concieved bloated government project that does little to benefit the community, but make a contractor rich, there is hope. Otherwise, the answer is no. I'm waiting until they build the pedestrian cross walk over the old low level bridge. I cant wait until an innocent citezen meets one of Fairmonts finest homeless on the way accross..I wonder who will make it to the other side..and who will get wet..

This is the way it used to be in Monongah: enter town from the east after you passed the High School you had the abandoned street car station and the big bridge and then the railroad tracks and to the right was the old 52/20 Club and the Champion Block Yard and then a drug store(later The Prime Time). There was a general store, hardware store, barber shop, liquer store, restaurant, pool hall and gas station. I remember the day Baby Jim Bright grabbed a so-called "dead wire" in Marty's junkyard. He was an excellent young man. May he rest in peace.

I wish somebody would open the old theater back up and show old grindhouse genre cinema and art house and foreign stuff like The Warner Theater in Morgantown does. And hire Jenny Reese to run it.

I heard that the old State Building that was condemned is going to be a new Manchin Clinic.

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Libra

You may have serious business to attend to this morning, so set your alarm half an hour earlier than usual. You'll need to keep your wits about you as power struggles are in full swing. Stick to your guns and adhere to your principles. The mysteries of life and death may be on your mind as the Moon glides through your eighth house of sex, money, and power. Remember, what goes around comes around! Things lighten up later, as chatty Gemini brings good news.
