Will this create NEW jobs, then stimulate area economies, and although something, somewhere surely will benefit, will conditions in area communities remain "status quo"? When you see that Ethiopia's state minister is appealing to world donors for 121 million to feed starving people, it doesn't seem like so much compared to $113 million coming to local "projects and programs". Can that money be "squeezed" a little to help benefit hungry people, then maybe local "projects and programs" too---'a little of this, a little of that'--IT'S A GOOD THING!!!!

Seriously, can no one request money to be allocated for helping Hinton survive and provide jobs for the people, or at least feed the needy ones? Can some of this 'defense' money be redirected so that there will still be a Hinton for ManTech to be in. Adding up the 'amount' in the article, I couldn't find $113 million, so thought there might still be a few million floating around with no destination yet..would someone that can make a difference at least ask???

I hate to burst your bubble but I don't think any money from this defense bill is coming to Hinton. Sorry.

Never was a bubble, just hoping Hinton would think about at least requesting money to support needed programs, since it seems so easily appropriated for other projects, however needy. Maybe the new, large building on Summers Street could be used for SOMETHING BENEFICIAL, or does anyone in Hinton think that there are any factions needing help?

Large building on Summers was very cold today during the Christmas Bazaar!
Ridiculous!
Maybe they could turn on the heat for winter events, if there are any, the town is dying.........needs a lot of stimulus money, defense or otherwise.

Good grief,
Anyone with a grain of common sense knows Bush sold USA to China funding Bush's "Axis of Evil," forcing our Service men and women into an unnecessary senseless WAR killing and injuring thousands, that continues to the tune of BILLIONS, another Vietnam?

Maybe tune up your Chinese, they may repo THE WHITE HOUSE.

H.W. should give W. a hug everytime he sees him for saving him. If W. wasn't between BHO and WJBC, then everything would have been blamed on H.W. We are not going to be owned by China. We are already in the European Socialist camp. China is in it for the money. They do not need the 300 million plus barbarians from the United States. They are too civilised. They are for the money. We are European, not Asian. We belong to the EU. Anyway, it's Bush's fault. No, it is not the North American Union. It's the European Union, EU. Happy Pearl Harbour Day.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Virgo

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
