You are totally wrong about this. Lumbee indians are cherokee indians that moved to the coast in 1953. Do your research first your a dumbass.

You may not have brillo hair but that still does not make you a full blooded indian. The lumbees of Roberson county do think someone owes themsome thing they do not. The lumbees do have a mixture of black and white and something else just because the curly hair or dark skin skipped you does not mean that it does not exsist. I am from fayetteville but live in Lumberton I hate this place and the affect that the Pembroke school system has on my kids my 12yr old is really depressed because of the name calling they call him because he is the only black in his class and mind you there are kids(lumbees) in his class that are darker and have brillo hair. Lumbees are now or will never be 100% indians when the other race (black) is of more of a percentage check the history it will tell you exactly what percentage it is and it is more 25 percent. To make a long story short who gives a damn stop being in denial. My grandmother is cherokee and has long silky black hair does that make me a cherokee hell no I have long jet black hair and high cheek bones people are always asking me what am I mixed with as fas as I am concerned I AM BLACK. There is too muc going on in the world to be worried about what race you are who gives a damn as long as your money is green you can be green too.

I'm african american and cherokee and I just moved down to robeson county from Connecticut. All i have to say is lumbee women look good as hell :)

In addition to some of the most derogatory terms used online that I have ever seen for all races, it goes hand in hand that these posters are also complete illiterates and don't know what punctuation is!

One thing that I find consistent in this discussion from both sides is the sad inability of most of you to use the English language properly. Some of you need to learn how to read and write, and then someone might be more interested in listening to you. As a caucasian resident of Robeson County, let me just say that I have known many wonderful Lumbee people and I have known some offensive, brutish Lumbee people. I could say the same thing about any race, including my own. You are what you wish to be, no matter what your background or heritage. While I admit that I have been frustrated at times with the Lumbee-run government and school system of this county, I also realize that this is a rare case of someone other than caucasians being in control, and I don't blame them for relishing the opportunity. Favoritism toward Lumbees is often demonstrated by the officials of our county, but it's the same thing you see everywhere else, only here it is not directed at the white man. All you have to do is go shopping at Wal-Mart and you will soon see that whites are in the minority. That's the reality of our county. I suppose what I'm saying is this: If you don't like Lumbees and can't accept the kind of environment I've alluded to, why don't you just move away from here instead of running your mouth about it? There's a good U-Haul rental service on 2nd Street - make use of it. I have heard it said that all Americans have two things in common: butt-holes and opinions. I would add to that by saying this: some Americans who spout their pointless, inane opinions at everyone are themselves butt-holes.
