Very incompetent. Police officer acted like a coward....Shoot the dog in the presence of the child.??? Totaly crazy...If the dog is not agrasive why why did he start shooting? I think they have to evaluate offocer who knows who he will shoot next time... And who can be by stander or a victim... I would get a good lawyer and sue that friendly neighbor who called them. And the city as well. Endangering my kid on my backyard? Crazy crazy story.... I hope you get your dogs back... I know how kids are close to their pets...

I cannot believe the actions of this police officer. How would he think that his actions are acceptable. I have been around these dogs on NUMEROUS occasions with my YOUNG toddler and they have NEVER done anything out of line. I can't believe that the officer did not acess the situation properly and fired a weapon around a young child. I hope that this situation will be investigated and good luck on the return of these sweet pups.

Very irresponsible on the part of the officer. He should definitely have his badge taken away. Police officers are there to protect not endanger, especially children who look up to them. Now I am sure she has a totally different image of what the role of a police officer is. I would definitely get a lawyer and call the local news. Good luck and you and your family are in my prayers.

We, too, know both of these sweet dogs, who have never hurt any of our children!!!!! We have been around these animals, especially the boxer, Tusk, many, many times and he's always been very loving and very gentle! The police officer probably scared Tusk and made him react in a potentially defensive way by running up to him...dogs can sense when a human is aggressive, in this case, the police officer! We have NEVER seen these two dogs aggressive...And for the police officer to shoot his gun on your property???? This officer clearly made a terrible mistake and yet, your family pets and your family members all suffer because of his mistake. Clearly this is wrong and your dogs should quickly and safely be returned to you immediately, and any pending case against you should be justifiably dropped. This is horrible.

This is absolutely outrageous! The dogs were on your property and we all know dogs will protect their "family". The cop said the dog bit him but there was no evidence of a bite. Where is their proof? Then the cop opened fire in the yard with Paige there? I can think of a whole list of charges that should be filed against him - reckless endangerment, endangering the life of a child. Is the shooting being investigated? If not it should be.
Good luck with this and please keep us posted.

Are you kidding? This is to be expected. If cops feel justified in shooting people with flimsy justification in the cities because "their jobs are dangerous" and never face any consequences for it, whats to stop them from getting all trigger happy with dogs in the suburbs? It's our own fault, we let them off the hook too many times for shooting people for no reason. Now they think they have the right.

Knowing this family, I can not imagine them having harmful animals... what a loving, kind family to have such a horrible thing happen to... any judge in their right mind would return the dogs to their rightful owners... Glad to see you guys this weekend and see that Paige is doing some better... how horrible.. Praying for a good outcome for your family

Let's see these dogs have lived with several children for years now and have never layed harm to any of them? So how is it that cops are called in, in the first place, and end up shooting their gun? It does not make sense unless the cop has it out for the dogs or family. These dogs are loving and playful and my 3 year old has played with them several times. I am an overprotecting parent and would never let my daughter in harms way!!!

Those dogs are the sweetest dogs I ever met!! How could a trained police office ever pull out his gun while there was a child present. It was not called for to put a child in jeopardy!! He used such poor judgement that it is scary to think he continues to carry a gun!!!! They are supposed to protect the public not put children in harms way! The way the officer reacted makes me thing he probably provoked the dogs to try to defend themselves, their family and their property. The dogs were more of a protection to Paige than the the officer!! There should be consequences for this officer!! AND THE DOGS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THEIR HOME!!!!!!

Let me tell you that this information Stacie portrays cannot be completely true for a variety of reasons. She is making the story show sympathy towards herself when in fact the dogs clearly provoked the officer by charging him. He is trained to defend himself, and what he did was completely within the confines of the law. Those dogs are dangerous and aggressive, almost killing my neighbors innocent little dog not once, but TWO times. Those dogs should not be allowed to remain with Stacie because they are dangerous and uncontrollable, and clearly Stacie cannot handle them.
