Here is a story about a man whose been employed at the Iowa tribe of Kansas and Nebraska for 6 1/2 years. He worked in the maintenance department for Casino White Cloud for 3 years. Then transferred to the Squaw Creek Eagle's Nest truck stop in Mound City, MO. For the last 31/2 years as a Grounds Keeper, Dish Washer, Bus Boy, Fuel desk attendant. He also worked in the Truck Service center, Remodeled the hotel and painted most all the outside buildings on the property for 10.00 dollars an hour.
During the summer months he asked the tribe if he could come to work at 6:00 am and leave at 2:00pm because of the heat. They said no. Because if they do that for him, they would have to do the same for everyone. He was the only grounds keeper there. Then after being there for 31/2 years he had to beg for a 25 cent an hour raise. He had to be on a 3 month probationary period and is a tribal member at the Iowa tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. How pathetic...
He has a wife who is a tribal member, also. She is a bad Diabetic and this last year his wife's mother has been in poor health. She has been in the hospital for the last 4 months. She is a tribal member too. Now, his wife worked and took care of her mother and her brother that was dying of cancer. So this guy has had to miss quit a bit of work this past year. Here is the point to his story. He was recently fired by his supervisor and the Iowa tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. Because of being late 3 days in a Rowe. So they say.
Here is the problem. His wife acquired his time sheets for the last 3 months. Up till the day he was fired and was not late once in all that time. Him getting fired was wrong. This is the tries favorite and famous last words. "They want to be there and take care of the tribal members". Is this taking care of tribal members? I don't think so...

How is your Christmas shopping coming along? This is a good day for doing a little bit more of it, and your eagle eyes will spot some interesting items if you're looking for unusual gifts. It might help to take someone along to keep you company or to arrange to meet them afterwards. You'll be inspired to write some letters to put inside your Christmas cards if you haven't already sent them off.
