If the club ain't paying the band, it's probably just karaoke with bad musicians.
If you enjoy hearing yourself and you are able to tolerate the singing of others so that you can in turn, then Will's scene is probably what you're looking for.
Either way, you get what you pay for.

Original music is (Great!) if it is good and someone wants to hear it, or actually plans to hear it and generally people are willing to pay for (professional acts) to play original music but...
You simply must admit that open mic is really just karaoke with a 70% chance of a bad live accompaniment.

If you want to karaoke then you must simply tolerate the lousy singing that comes along with it.

Actually I said that Columbus had some fine musicians and singers.
I also noted that those musicians were most often paid to play.
I also said Open mic is basically Karaoke,
you get what you pay for,

The psychiatrist that was coming and working in Blue Ridge several days a week was arrested for trying to treat chronic pain as well as psychiatric issue. He closed his office here as well as they one in Alpharetta. I am sure a good psychiatrist would have just as much interest in reading post in Alabama.
