Jesus Christ, where did you learn to write? Go back to school (elementary school from the looks of it), then maybe you'll be capable of carrying out an adult conversation. Eh, that's just asking too much.

Hey Mr. Prejudice in Colorado;

We are glad you arent in our state, keep your prejudice isolated so it dont spread, it creates hate, one thing in our beautiful state we dont allow! Alaska Natives are not trash, we know as many white caucasians and other races that drink and make huge fools of themselves. What kinds of people do you have on your street that drink and be drunk in public, probably plenty.Alaska Natives are what make Alaska the way it is, so suck it in and stay where you are.

What is with the downtown businesses still supporting a van to pick up drunk natives, who will pick up the embarassing number of white drunks that stumble on our streets far more then natives ever did. Leave the few natives alone, they were never a hinderance to the Fairbanks area, only in a fews eyes.Downtown is dead, there is little or no activity happening even in the few businesses left there. Lets turn our eyes on doing things that will build up the downtown area again and put some life back into it, bars are what make money and if the city hadnot sold the power plant they would have the money they need to pay for roads and other needed things.Leave the poor natives alone, they were here before most of you anyway and they love the land and care about how it is taken care of and wont be poisoning the waters, or the land we all live on and off of.kudos to the natives, we support you full bore.

So Fairview Manor is sold, what will you do with the low income elderly and young people renting there that cant afford housing otherwise? Dont you think you ought to figure that out before you throw them into the street? It is good to make more senior housing, but there needs to be places of normal singles and regular family units as well.Dont rebuild or tear down unless you have figured out the answer to this problem, because Fairbanks has its hands full taking care of the homeless that exist here now, what will we do with more? Some people can ignor this problem, but there are lots of us that cant!Meanwhile even now, we all need to band together and help the poor and homeless that now exist, got extra food, an extra place you could rent out for lower then the average rent to those in need, do what you can in our town to make these people feel like they belong and have some sense of dignity as a human being.Not everyone chooses to be homeless.As for the collecting of food for the poor for Thanksgiving and Christmas, people are hungry year round, not just on the holidays. If you want to help volunteer some time in our food kitchens, the rescue mission and other places that reach out to these people and humble your hearts towards these people, they will get a better opinion of a town that turned them out cause they have no money to pay high oil bills to heat their home, high rent that is outrageous and getting higher, almost impossible for those of us working to pay and still have money for food.Instead of sending things overseas, lets work on feeding and clothing our hungry locally, we will notice that we are making a difference if we do.

These drunks, I call them "Weebles", are a disgrace to Alaska. They chose along time ago to drink. Now all they think about is to get "blotto".

If there were a place for them to go, I would hope they put it in a locale the farthest away from any liquor store. It will probably be empty most of the time because they are so damn lazy to get there(or use money to get a cab instead of buying more booze).

The only "real" way to solve this problem completely is to outlaw the sale of alcohol here. But "in reality", that would just never happen.

So, we know that a weeble + booze = more weebles weebeling along Cushman Street shouting profanities, getting into fights, stealing things and generally disgracing this already disgraced city.

I say build a compound with fifty foot walls, include a distillery, make them pay their dividend up for an exclusive years membership to "Alcohol land". That would at least keep them out of our sight and safe in the winter..........

All I can say is WOW! Racism isn't dead yet. As a honky, I can take just about any racist remark made but can't tolerate it when ignorance by a "White" racist is printed. It's sad when this guy's I.Q. is the equivalent of a castrated hamsters... odds are the little fellow has more on the ball than Mr. White Pride. I grew up in Inglewood California... been shot at numerous times and still hold my fellow past neighbors in very high esteem. Those good people realized I was white the minute they laid eyes on me yet didn't see color, just another man. So, Mr. White Pride... Put down your Budweiser, loose the prejudice and enjoy all of the fine qualities that all races bring to us, drunk or not.

This guy mentions that "smashin their face in just aint workin" - what's sad is that a good friend of mine was attacked randomly and brutally about 10 years ago in Fairbanks by a complete stranger...this psycho perhaps. This is incredibly racist and ignorant and absolutely stupid. I'm full Alaska Native. Somebody please compare my English to his & tell me who is more ignorant.

I do believe everyone has their own right to make their own decisions. It doesnt give anyone any right to judge. Alcoholism is alcoholism. It doesn't matter what color you are. I don't believe in ignorance but it still exist.

How lovely to see that ignorance is still alive and well in my old home town. I have lived the last 15 years in the lower 48. Although it's not the "deep south", it is south enough to hold many other ignorant who find any reason to put down someone who isn't 'white'. I am Alaskan Native and so my sons are too (their dad is white), I use to worry when I first came down that my middle son would have a hard time with these southerners cause he has the native look. Now that I am considering moving back home with my youngest (who looks like he has no native in him)I worry that his home/birth state will show him only more ignorance. I know there are good people up there who look at a person and not their skin color/religion/past etc, but checking out this site to see what has been going on over the years makes me sad. Many blessings to those who aren't ignorant....and prayers that those who are reach a stage in their life where they can finally truely see a person for who they are.

My wife and I are Alaska Native. We love the Alaska wilderness. We were born and raised in Alaska, but we've been raising our 5 kids out of state. Where we live my kids have never been looked down upon because of there race. I don't want my kids subjected to all the racism that exists up there. For one I'm afraid my sons might be imprisoned for beating the f*ck outa one of you pregidous non-native Alaskans.

I think that the widely circulated video of some non-natives shooting a native women with a paintball pretty much sums up what alot (not all) of Alaskas whites and blacks think and feel about Alaska Natives whether they admit it or not.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aquarius

This is another day when financial matters cause trouble, as Mars reverses in your seventh house. What started off as a minor niggle with a partner or an opponent yesterday could now escalate into a full-blown row, but at least this will give you the chance to get certain things out into the open. Legal issues from the past may become ugly. If you're pointing the finger of blame at someone, don't get so heated that you accuse them of everything under the sun.
