It seems like everyone says that about the cops in their town. Even if there was truth to this they wouldn't make it where you could see the beer and the public would know. I mean they aren't stupid. Stevenson has some really good police officer. Sammy Smith keeps Stevenson straight and he should be chief! It would be nice if the people of Stevenson would take a stand and put an honest guy in there.

I agree with you. Sammy would be an excellent Police Chief for Stevenson. But why would he leave the Alabama State Troopers to go back to Stevenson as Chief? Sammy has always wanted to be a Trooper I wouldnt do it. Last time I talked to him he was in the physical testing for the job, and a few Trroper buddies of mine in Huntsville said they were going to hire him.

I have said this to Sammy to his face. Trust me its fact. He is a cheater. I would have completely agreed with you before I found out what type of lying cheater he really is. Sure you said this to his face! You don't know what transpired when this so called domestic abuse occured, I was there after the so called dispute, and it is blown out of proportion. Sammy is a decent guy, but we have to consider that Sammy is in a public scrutenized position, and as we all know there are plenty of gossip mongers here, in the future try checking into the facts or truth before you post things that you can't prove are 100% correct, because all you do is hurt people with lies! As long as I have known Sammy he is not a cheater! I know, because he has told me some very personal situations in his life that he has been in, and that led me to trust his word, because I checked them out. Sammy has never give me a reason to not believe him, so you can say what you want, it won't make a difference!

I agree with priceless. Atleast I see sammy pulling people over and running radar on the "way". Atleast he isn't asleep behind NJ pharmacy like some! I met the chief in stevenson when he first started. He seemed to be the man to turn things around and all the pictures in the paper of meth lab busts. Now...the only thing changed is him! Priceless pretty much hit the nail on the head, Sammy is the posterboard icon of what most Americans see as a police officer Sammy is watched all througout the area and is very respected by people on federal level, I talked to a TVA policeman here in Chattown that spoke good about him, I also had many state troopers who want him to come to work with them. I would say whoever Priceless is probably knows exactly what he/she is talking about. You see opinions and rumors don't replace facts, facts is exact information. Well, I have some bad new's for anyone with anything bad 2 say about Sammy Smith. He is married 2 my cousin and me and her talk all the time. We are real close and Sammy has never cheated on her. And I know that one for a fact. Sammy is a good man. And yes he and Karen had some problems, but who doesn't. Keep it off the internet. And for the cheif of police, he is a good man 2. I know him and his wife really well. The way I see it You need 2 clean out from under your own bed before you start talking about someone else.

Honestly

I do not know how Sammy is now. Perhaps he is not the same man he use to be. Everyone can learn from past mistakes. However, in the past he was guilty of cheating on his wife. But, that was a long time ago. He did Karen wrong and hopefully they were able to move on from his mistakes. If that's the case then I see no reason why he shouldn't be promoted. There are always going to be someone out there who doesn't like you. You can't please everyone. And everyone is entitled to their oppinion.
