Not to disrespect private schools, but part of the reason that private schools are seeing a decrease in enrollment is not because of the economy. It is because our public schools offer a better education, especially at the high school level. Private schools can tell you how great they are academically, but they can't prove it. Texas public school information is available online in many forms. Our records are an open book.

It is true that religious based schools are not burdened by TAKS, but therein lies the rub. Without that accountability, it is difficult to ascertain if the private school is really giving a solid education or if they are just saying so.

When private school students enter the public schools, some are ready (or even advanced), but some are terribly behind. The gaps in education can be scary.

This assumption that private schools are inherently better has to be challenged.

It's going to be a really enjoyable day, especially if you're getting together with loved ones. You'll want the day to be a big success and you'll do what you can to make that happen. Ideally, you should combine some much-loved traditions with a few surprises, and also allow for plenty of spontaneity.
