*sigh* More animal haters. Damn I just love ya'll so much! I have 3 cats in my house - they see the great outdoors by sitting in the windows and are my 4 footed furry babies. We do have more than a few strays running around this neighborhood (right around the police department) One is a huge orange tomcat and he's just pretty as can be - I know he's being fed, but he's still running all about and I'm not sure he has a single place to call home... but am I going to do anything about him? nope. I've got my 3 and that's enough in my little house - and my neighbors do well enough feeding the 4 or 5 strays that are always around. Monarc23 - try driving through the side streets of Derry at night - you'll see your fair share of strays.
Apparently you live very close to me. I live in the green house by ameriserve... that orange cat sleeps under my car. Actually there is a mama who is black and white and then she has 8 kittens.. they are just precious... then a big gray one and the orange one... they sleep under the cars or they go under my porch... i feed them all the time... Usually by the end of the week i have so many left overs in my fridge its like "well the cats gotta eat" basically if i could have animals i would take them all in cuz they are just too cute... i am not a cat person more of a dog person myself, but who can resist cute cuddly furry kittens? no i and i wont kill an animal... its not worth it. They have lives just like we do.

NO they DON'T "have lives just like we do". They are animals, not people. Human responsibility and cat population control is necessary for cats that live in a town of humans. If the filthy bastards would use a toilet "just like we do" or if their owners would keep them from shitting in my yard, I'd have o problem whatsoever.

you are from blairsville right? or at least thats what you say... why dont you shut your mouth and worry about something more important... no one is going to kill all the cats, and yes i will continue to feed them and you are not holding a gun to my head to make me stop. they are cute, they are living creatures and no offense but i would rather feed a cat than run a rally about "save the ozone, stop eating food that comes in plastic containers", or something stupid... i am not telling you that you have to like them, i dont care if u like cats or not... i dont give a hoot what you say... as you shouldn't i. I have an opinion you have one, and they clash... dont come all up in my face like i give a damn what you are saying to me, cuz guess what i dont. and if you havent noticed, people are mammals, and so are cats... in the old days people didn't use toilets either. dont preach to me... i dont give a damn.

cats are like children--it is how they are brought up from birth--i was never a cat lover or hater till one day i picked up a kitten from the street--she was friendly--grew up and got herself pragnent--two girls & one boy--took them all to vet to be fixed--they all grew uo to be friendly and needed in this area--hurt my cats & you will join them--my only bitch is that the cat that fathered these kittens never paid any support--then again its derry area

people can learn a lot from animals--they have morals--back off and do something to aid these cats= cats are not filthy-if cats were policemen they could teach you a lesson or two

I stopped poisoning stray cats about a year ago. I have a much better method now that is virtually fool-proof. I bought two of those traps that fit inside a 5 gallon bucket and I keep one each under my front and back porches. I've caught six strays so far. You would not believe how much this has solved the problem. I no longer have stray cats using my gardens as their toilet. Gardening this summer was great. Not even once did I reach into the soil and discover a buried turd, not even once. The best part is that I take the stray far up on the ridge and let it go. Not one has reappeared. Everyone's a winner...only upside to this method.

wow...first of all i must say some of you had me laughing so hard i almost fell off my chair...yes, there are problems with stray cats....they do poop under my porch all the time ... is sucks and it stinks...is there a solution? i dont know, i think these are things in life we all just need to deal with however works best for us....

and for the dogs, my neighbor has like 5 dogs in a very small yard, 3 of them little mean rodent things, whatever they are called, and they get loose out of their fence and come after me and the kids all the time...once it was even sitting on my porch growling and snarling at me that i couldn't even go in my own home...now that sucked...

On numerous occasions I have gone to Dollar General and bought several cans of cat food and a few boxes of rat poison. I mixed the two and put the mixture back in the cans and put them in my yard. Most of the time the cans are empty by morning.
Cats that stay the fuck out of my garden have nothing to worry about. The ones that dig and shit have dug and shit for the last time.
Oh my god - do you really believe that the only thing that eats cat food is a cat? You are creating a dangerous situation by doing this. I only hope no one's lost pet, or god forbid, a lost toddler comes anywhere near your death traps! I hope the PA Game Commission and/or the Humane Society gets wind of this via a goo neighbor reporting you.
