Tell it like it is "Wang Lu". Why spend more money in this age of pay cuts and other cut backs? What a waste of money. If they must get someone to "brand" the city, how about someone local?

This town of Tavares is really becoming a joke! Lets change the logo....AGAIN!! Besides what they will spend on their STUDY....do they realize what the costs will be to change logos all over the town, from a city vehicle to a damn envelope!!! Spend ,Spend, Spend....GEE, has anyone seen those water taxis motoring down Lake Dora lately? Bet the money spent on those pieces of crap is unbelieable!

How do you get people to buy homes in Tavares? When they come with cash in their pockets to look at new homes and their car is hit by people and objects to the point they leave. The streets are a free for all for unattended kids and Basket ballgoals complete with trash. Call the Cops is what they say at city hall. I don't know what to call them. They have one answer!!! Nothing we can do!!!
sorry to live in Tavares

I cant believe this! How can John Dury and Nancy Clutts justify this when budget cuts are looming? Is it because his time for review is closing in and the city is still the same old thing it always was and always will be? How much money have they sunk into Tavares trying to make it something it won't be. That figure would be HUGE!

Maybe they should stop rolling up the sidewalks at 8pm downtown and actually open businesses that attract young people.. wasting money on a logo will not change the fact that there is no reason to go downtown after dark..

atleast theres plenty of parking now...

Bloggers are an interesting crowd. Lots of feelings with litle facts. I am proud of Tavares for setting the new standard in Lake County. A city that is not doing things to grow is a city that is dying. And by the way, the city is not paying for a logo. The city is branding itself for the next generation, which means the city's leaders take their roles seriously enough to see Tavares as a location to be marketed around the globe. I live in Tavares and I am happy to pay taxes to a government that actualy does stuff. Apparently, somebody has not been downtown in awhile. There is plenty to do these days.

Yeah, plenty to do. Let's see....watch traffic, go to the courthouse, get a haircut, watch more traffic.
Why, it's just like Mt. Dora or Eustis, if neither one had stores, shoppers or tourists. What a future metropolis.

Trident Florida Trading Company LLC aka Trident Pontoons aka Poiseden has a sweetheart deal with the city of Tavares for $800,000.00. Where was the due diligence? This guy that owns these companies has ripped off customers for millions. He renovated 2 boats for the city that is useless. How much deeper are the pockets of the Tavares taxpayers? Crooks in government helping crooks in the private sector. Look at this guys business record!!!!!!!! How can the city be so shortsighted. Taxpayers should look into this.

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Leo

Something will surface that either allows you to go forward or blocks your progress. Whichever way things go, take action to bring about change. If there's a blockage, then investigate the true cause as to why things are stuck. If things are unfolding well then make sure you act with clarity and determination. You can build something for the future now if you make a decisive move.
