New Publix heading the Mount Dora area

Like we need TWO stores within 3 miles of each other...??? Our neighborhoods DON'T need to have grocery stores that close...Mt Dora is NUTS for doing this.

Not only that, but they will leave behind yet another empty retail shell, in addition to the one where the old Winn-Dixie was across Donnelly.

The Stoneybrook Publix is in Orange county approved by Orange county. Mount Dora approved only the one at 441 and 44.

The building that housed Winn-Dixie was replaced by a Gold's Gym quite a while ago, and I seriously doubt that space will be empty for that long. I vote for a Best Buy!

I think the new Publix will be a great addition to the north Orange County area and will serve many of the residents who live south of the current Publix and the new one proposed across the street.

I wish the old Publix is replaced with a whole foods or a fresh market. that would be a nice compliment to the mix.

Publix needs some competition! Publix prices are always sky high. Someone needs to get Krogers in the Mount Dora/Orlando area..:>)

I agree to think that the old Publix should be replaced with a Whole Foods of some sort. A new McDonalds would be great too, but it may not happen. It needs to be a bit bigger than what we have now.

Watch out...sprawl is on the march. Tim Bailey's proposed development next door would bring us another cozy village and suck the wind from Mount Dora merchants struggling to survive. Why not add another WalMart while we are at it?

Daily Horoscope for November 25

Leo

The Moon and Uranus blend in your psychic houses, making it necessary for you to use your intuition more than your intellect. Sometimes you need to stop thinking and just feel; your gut is probably the best barometer of each situation. It may be hard to express yourself clearly so you may want to spend time with those you are especially close to. The deep connections make it easy to understand without words.
