Can anyone give me a good idea of what ES is like living there full-time? Is there a decent grocery store? bookstore? Medical care??? Is it all touristy?? I would really appreciate the inside scoop as we are considering a move into this area- Thanks in advance-

There is a GREAT bookstore in Berryville, Books at Sow's Ear Antiques, and there are several good grocery stores including a Wal-Mart Super-center. I think you'll like it here. Hope you decide to come.

Eureka Springs is very much alive and bustling in the Spring, Summer and into the Fall months. The winter months are extremely quiet and slow. My wife, son and I moved here just over a year ago, and we all love the lifestyle here. We purchased a home in the Holiday Island area about 7 miles outside of Eureka Springs, and it is like living on vacation here year round. There is a Walmart in Berryville, a 20 minute drive from Eureka if you do not like the Harts Grocery store. There is a grocery store in the Holiday Island area that has a great choice of food items. Maybe alittle more expensive, but the quality cannot be matched.
There are great restaurants in Eureka and in Holiday Island. There is Mexican food; Chinese food; Sushi place fixing to open in Holiday Island area; Italian food; many more variety restaurants. It is not cheap to live here, however, the open and friendly atmosphere in Eureka Springs and all that goes on for entertainment, live music, free outdoor concerts in dowtown, the outdoor theatre and all the other activities makes it all worth the price in our opinion.
I would recommend you check out Holiday Island if you are looking to purchase, providing you want to live in a quiet atmosphere year round. Holiday Island is like living in a wildlife paradise just outside the noise of Eureka Springs.
There are many larger cities to visit within a 45 minute or so drive. There is Rogers, Bentonville and others as well.
If you are looking for a change, this is the place.
We wish you well on your decision.

The Realtor that helped us out a great deal when we decided to seriously look to make a move was Henry Thornton at Remax here in Eureka Springs. I cannot speak highly enough in regards to his enthusiasm, honesty and extended efforts.
Good luck on your new home hunt. Glad you and your wife had a enjoyable time in the area. If you have any other further questions, do not hesitate to post them, as I will eventually respond.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Pisces

Family, friends and in-laws are all hard to please. It is better to please yourself for once, dear Pisces, than to bang your head against a wall. You need to relax and get in touch with your own feelings. Do not hesitate to speak up for someone you care about. Someone may try to curtail your freedom. Set them straight and do not give in.
