Fourth of July Tragedies

I blam the mayor for what happened the night of the fireworks in roanoke. Where was the police coverage, where were the officers to control traffic? If our police department was not closed due to the board being money hungry, Hodel would still be alive! The mayor is more concerned about money than he is the safety of the community. Last year, we had the Cheif of Roanoke and one of his officers, Carl, that walked around the whole time to make sure things stayed in order and then directed traffic after the fireworks and everything went very smoothly. I hope something is done about this tragidy and something is done about the board members that decided the safety of our community is not worth the money that the police department was given to run things smoothly. In fact, the Cheif was keeping it UNDER the budget, so the decision to close the department was out of selfishness.
How many more people have to die before bringing our much needed police department and Cheif back where it belongs?
