I'm glad it went off without any problems.I'm sure more vendors will be there next year. I heard the spareribs were excellent. Man, I love spareribs. I may show up next year......and if they hold a rib eating contest, I'm definitely there.

...this probably cost Sheriff Parker the election. Even if the marijuana initiative passes 90% to 10%, the Cattlemen's Association will not buy it.
They want to run the county, no room for anyone else.

Peaceful? Without a hitch? There were over ten arrests that I know of for DUI that were directly coming from the WHEE. That's over ten people that could have killed someone.

Don't let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.

Nothing on my intake roster indicates any arrests were drivers leaving the hemp festival activities.

There were problems out there and for a Tehama County Tax payer, I am very pissed that we had to send officers out there to baby sit you no good druggies! Some of you no good losers that just want to sit at home and collect money and get smoked needs to wake up and find a real job. I for one will not vote to legalize marijuana or vote for that no good PARKER. There will not be other one if I can help it. Just a waste of Tehama County Money!!!!!!!!!!

I was just reading the comments and see that some seem to think because Clay Parker was there that he supports legalizing marijuana? Before I get attacked, that is just my view of what was said. FIRST you need to know Clay was being paid to be there and would not have taken his time to be there had it not been an election year. Second I would just like to share a comment from another forum from one of Clay Parkers supporters...

"As far as Parker 'coddling the hempers' is concerned, he's no supporter of dope users, and for you to say otherwise is just utterly ridiculous. He personally handed out boatloads of tickets to the collective people who were violating the ordinances. However, the hemp festival was approved by the county...you and I may not particularly like the hemp festival but its not Parker's fault that it was approved, and its certainly nothing against his candidacy for office. "

I just thought that you should know that Clay has two faces, one he wears during election time, and another the rest of the time.

This is just a bit of information not a bash on the festival.

The funny thing about this VERY ignorant statement is that With the 5-10 million of people that use marijuana...probably someone in your close little circle of love smokes TOO. Hate on them. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go back to WORK NOW. And if your an average Tehama County Tax payer...I'm also making more than you...Peace. 420

where were the local suppliers of weed?

no sign of the "collective" run by froome.....

if the collective excuse was truely a real thing, where was his booth? seems like a great place to sign up new "patients"

i was there looking for legal suppliers

maybe he was figuring out some new dog and pony show story about his "legal" pot sales. smoke and mirors excuses are running thin

i bet his good ol boys who lent him money are starting to realize there money just went up in smoke

when is he going to jail?

According to the sheriff there were no unusual problems at this gathering of an estimated 5000 people (per Chico TV coverage). The only incidents were petty thefts that were resolved by festival security. On-site vendors did good business along with significant spill-over into the local economy. The costs for extra police presence (over-time deputies and sheriff) were paid by the festival. All in all this was a peaceful, profitable, and joyful gathering of fellow Americans, most of which have jobs, pay taxes, and respect others and their freedom to assemble. Fortunately unlike you more Californians now support legalization than those that do not, so that we can soon end this absurd and counterproductive era of prohibition and asinine commentary such as yours.

QUIT LYING. That is NOT the TRUTH. There were NO DUI ARRESTS at, going to, or coming from the WHEE.I was there all weekend. Where were you? Drinking your brains out at some bar? That must be one hell of a hangover you got there, buddy. Hope YOU weren't driving....

I know it has become cliche to relate this festival to the rodeo, but look at how much law enforcement it takes to do traffic control, patrols in and outside of the venue, OT, etc. This festival was nowhere near as significant as the rodeo or other events, and hardly cost anyone a dime except for the organizers. No one was hurt (physically or financially), so I really don't understand why there is such a huge stink over the whole thing. It happened, people had fun, you did not. Sorry about your luck.
