I agree totally.. So many times ive seen people allow their dogs to do things. They think is "cute" and it isnt.

One thing,, while at a dog park. People were allowing their dogs to be on the picnic tables..
Ok Its a dog park.. But the dog doesnt know one picnic table from another...

Patting your chest and saying give me a hug.. Which makes the dog jump up on people.. This is NOT funny or a good habit..

Allowing your dog to RUN towards some one..

This is a really bad habit.. Your dog should always be beside or behind you.. Even when greeting.

I could go on and on..

I agree with a lot of the things in this article.
My Amer. Pit Bull Terrier had a bad habit of jumping up and while I was trying to teach her NOT to do it my husband was allowing her to when he would come home from work...so not only did she think it was ok to jump she thought it was ok to run at the door...He thought nothing wrong of this behavior...HOWEVER, when my dad would come over our dog would do this to him...my dad is over 70 and has various hip problems...so a 55 lb. dog jumping on him...is NOT good...And it showed my husband our dog could not tell the difference between jumping on him and jumping on others...After that we asked our friend to help us train her by coming in and out of the house...and used treats as rewards when she behaved...in no time she had manners.
I can't say I agreed with '8. Forgetting to ask a guest if they like dogs before they come to the home where dogs reside.' Ummmm, my dog lives in this house...not them...if you come in MY house you respect my animals...PERIOD. And chances are if you don't like them...they aren't going to care for you either...lol...
