Crystal Strange was one of my Journalism majors, an A student, member of Phi Theta Kappa and was to be Junior Class President next year. Her mother, Linda Strange is Associate Professor of Mathematics at Bacone where she has taught since 1977. Crystal recently won several awards from state journalism contests for page design and layout. She was an extremely talented young student journalist with a fabulous future. Since I have been at Bacone since 1986, I have known Crystal her entire life. She died very tragically, yet doing what she loved - shooting photographs. Please understand that Bacone College is a very close-knit school. Both students and faculty here are very close. Crystal was a member of the Baconian Team and very well thought of both in the newsroom and throughout campus. Bacone is offering grief counseling for both students and faculty. Her family needs prayers and support, as does the entire Bacone community.

I know that standing on the side f any road in oklahoma is a death sentence. You cannot even change a flat tire anymore, get out to stretch your legs, put up flares and hazard cones during a break down. I cannot help to think that in journalism, you read articles of all kinds and didn't know this. Why not journal on something else, somewhere else. I am sorry this happened, chance is slim that the van will be found. I hope she finds peace in this horrible world we are all living in. But cannot help to think she

Crystal was a friend, a smart girl, someone to come to and very beautiful. Even though I only knew her for a year or so, we had a friendship I knew I could rely on. She was a great instrumentalsist and for that our jazz band has dedicated one of their State songs for her. The beauty in the song captures our love and for her. Crystal, you are a good friend and you are loved, missed, and will never be forgotten. Love always, amy murray and all your nerdy band friends and peeps at checotah

I was acquainted with the Strange family several years ago. Linda Strange was the accountant for my familys' business. She came in the store often with her two daughters. They were always very friendly and brought forth a presence of warmth and caring.
Linda, I want you to know that my heart goes out to you and your family. Your family is sincerely in my prayers. I cannot imagine losing a child.
However- As hard as it is, you must realize that you cannot prevent life from happening. Obstacles happen in life that may leave you questioning "Why??" Bad things happen to good people. Turn to God for answers. These are two scriptures that may help:
Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding
Psalm 32:8 - I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Don't place blame on these kids. Place the blame where it belongs. The driver of the van!!! May they be punished to the fullest extent of the law!!!

Crystal was the light of my life, my pride and joy. I loved her with my whole heart and my life totally revolved around her. She was so excited to be graduating from college, looking forward to her 18th birthday coming up in July, and anxious to register to vote. She couldn't wait to move out of Oklahoma and we spent lots of nights just talking of her future: getting married someday, having a daughter she could name after my mother we lost last year, and having a house with a 'mother-in-law' plan so I could take care of her children and help with the housework after I retired from Bacone. I am so lost without her and I appreciate everyone's prayers.
