Quinton Man Arrested by FBI

If anyone can tell me, I'm trying to find out if this is the same Coy Oxford I went to EOSC with almost 19 years ago. I knew a guy by the same name, I want to say from Quinton. We were in college choir and tour groups together. I'm not wanting to verify this for libelous reasons. If this is the same Coy Oxford, he needs prayer, if anything. Somebody please reply to this and let me know. Thanks.

Oxyford??? My goodness. That name has rung a bell. I don,t think I can be much help on this but something has came to my mind here. I know when I was just a 5 are 6 years old back in hartshorne oklahoma my brother had a freind named kenny oxford that always got into a great deal of trouble. This was all back in 1971 to 1974 it was 1974 when my brother had seen the last of him as the hole family moved. Now do you know if this oxford has a brother named kenny??

No, he didn't have a brother named Kenny. Steelhog, this IS the same Coy Oxford that you went to EOSC with.

Thanks, Bystander. I'm truly sorry to hear about all of this. I remember him as many of you probably do. I remember a good christian and family man. Did he truly do this or was he set up? If he did, any idea what caused such a downfall? Again, I don't want to stomp any sour grapes, I just hadn't see him all these years and hate that he's in this position. Was he still married?

He was divorced several months before all this happened. Had been on medication for depression and has an incurable disease, so basically has given up. I went to high school with Coy and his brothers and sister and yes, this is a shock. According to his family, yes, he did do it. Guess he figured since he didn't have long to live, he was going to enjoy what little time he did have left.

Where is Coy being held? Does anyone know?

I'm not sure. He was being held at a federal detention center in Oklahoma City and then they transported him to Little Rock Arkansas to plead in court there. All I could guess would be a federal facility somewhere in the state of Oklahoma.

Coy was not gonna die any time soon. He hid his homosexuality for years and he lived quite the double life. He had HIV for years and it was well controlled with meds. His double life got the best of him

Yes double life style get the best of them.

Does anyone have any updates? I went to school with Coy.

All I know is that he is not in the federal prison system anymore. I really don't know where they sent him too. I will ask around and see if I can find out anything and post it here.

As long as he's lock up where he needs to be.

Of course he hid a lot from people. Do any of you here really think coming out of the closet in a small country town is a smart idea? I don't blame him for it. Funny thing is, there is a lot of things people hide in small country towns because everybody is in everybody's business. Yes, his HIV might have been under control, but have any of you ever gotten a diagnosis of something incureable? Cancer, HIV, Hepatitis? Yeah, under control or not, it can mess with your mind and put you in a crazy state.
Careful before you judge. And oh yeah, I'm from Quinton too...so be careful the dirt you sling...because I dont even live there anymore and I STILL hear dirt on folks.
I'm not defending or justifying anything before you take that stanse. LIke the screen name says...I'm just fed up with people's gossip and judgement.

Coy had a hard time with the breakup of his marriage. He was not ready to give up on it. His wife kicked him out and shacked up with a guy she had met at a bar and only knew for a month or so. Coy just needed a helping hand but no one seemed to offer him one. He needs our prayers and support. He is a decent man.

Yes he certainly is. And I too was born and raised in Quinton and know the kind of hurtful gossip that goes on around here. If you don't fit into a clique then they have no use for you. I haven't heard any more about him. I hope he is getting the help and support that he needs somewhere.

His wife forgave him and put up with his cheating (with men) and alcohol abuse for years. Did he really expect his wife to keep risking her own life with him? No judgements, just the facts. No I don't expect him to come out in a small town but either abstain from sex outside your marriage or get out of your marriage. It is sad that he went to a church that said his sexual orientation was unacceptable so he thought lying, cheating and being untrue to his own self was better than losing the love, respect of his relatives and friends. Maybe when society comes a round a little more, guys like Coy can be true in the beginning and heal from their own self-hatred that only results in secrets that kill.

Coy has not lost the love and respect from his family and TRUE friends. Another thing Coy has no self hatred. He has come to terms with everything. Another thing I thought this was a blog about what Coy did to get arrested, not his sexual orientation. You all can hide behind your screen names on here and say what you want about him behind his back, thats real brave. Next time you see him you ought to tell him what you think about him to his face next time you see him, cause it won't be long. You all clame to know this and that about him, when the truth is you don't know jack. I know because I have been close with Coy for a long time now and still keep in touch with him. I send him a copy of this blog every time it gets updated....so if you have anything else to say just type away and he will read it.
