This is why the south gets a bad name. I can't even put a self contained recreational vehicle on property that I purchased that I was refused a septic permit on,but the TVA has been allowed in the past to open up the gates(one article said about 40 times a year)knowing that there was 100+ years of contaminated sludge behind it. I think that all the fuss now is because it is so obvious(3 feet of it). I guess it was alright to release it a little at a time. Wow,it's kinda scary. What a beautiful place to ruin!! What's gonna happen when people quit buying property in Polk County? And the rafters quit coming? All I have heard is how the northerners are coming there and messing the area up by populating it. Maybe the northerners appreciate the land more than the people that have lived there for all this 100 years of dumping toxic waste in the Ocoee. I was born there and it makes me want to cry!!

I have to ask, when you were denied your septic permit was it because of Ken Bishop? He is the one who works for the health department and represents Polk County and he usually makes his decision for all the wrong reasons. Over the years I have heard so many bad stories from local builders and real estate people alike I can't believe he is still aloud to conduct business the way he does. Even when the owner takes the case to the state of Tennessee they usually come back to him and the decision he makes sticks. This guy is a piece of work and needs to be kicked out on his ass for being such a jerk. Just check the public records under his name and see how many parcels of land this guys owns, it a little strange, but it is po-dunk Polk County.

YES!!! But I didn't want to mention any names. And EVERYONE there feels the same. Power is a mighty thing!! But,of course,he's got you by the balls. I have checked the public records, and I will keep this property until the day I die before I sell it to him. Even if I just go and sit on a blanket and look at the scenery once a year. My retirement dream is no longer in reach. My money is gone buying a piece of worthless property. And I get the feeling that I am just a joke to him or should I say "them". Talk about wanting to cry!! I probably care more about the land than any of them.

First of all, Love Tennessee needs to learn how to spell correctly. It should be allowed, not aloud. The reason that the state of TN supports Mr. Bishop is that he is correct in most of his decisions. He is also retired now too, so he will no longer be to blame when people are upset that they are unable to obtain a septic tank permit for their property. Mr. Bishop has been able to obtain so many parcels of land because he and his wife have worked hard and saved their entire lives. They did without early on in life so that they would have money later in life. They learned the value of debt free living early on in life, something so many people never do. He and his wife worked their day jobs in addition to running a clothing business, a cabin rental business, and managing real estate properties. I find it strange that their are many homes and businesses in Polk Co. that he does not own, and he must have given all these owners their septic tank permits! Mr. Bishop happens to be my father and I am can personally testify to how hard he and my mother have worked through the years. My parents didn't take vacations when others did, didn't drive new cars when others did, didn't buy new clothes when others did, all so they they could provide a better life for me and my sister. My father paid 100% for our college educations, our first vehicles, and for anything else we have needed in life. He has also taught us the value of hardwork and education. Both my sister and I were straight A students and I can also assure you that we have been excellent employers in the fields that we work in, education and healthcare. In addition my father taught her the biblical principle of debt-free living, which is what I strive to accomplish in life. He also is an excellent grandfather to two grandchildren. It is so sad to me that so many feel this way about my father and I think the root of it all is jealousy. Most people are jealous of what he has accomplished in life, yet most are not willing to put forth the effort he has his whole life. So please, before you go slandering people online, make sure you have your facts straight.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Sagittarius

If you have any worries or problems today, a close colleague could have the answers you seek. Work will be satisfying, and anything to do with children should be very rewarding today. There could be friction with a relative, but it's nothing serious and things will sort themselves out in due course. Again, you must pay attention to your health, Saggitarius: skin infections are a strong possibility at the moment.
