Anonymous Oct 24, 2008 11:58 PM GMT Every "associate" of WalMart needs to know that their so-called "open door policy" is a lie. I was verbally abused and viciously harassed by my dept mgr to and had documented incidents. Finally, I reported it (through each level of management, as each level did nothing, so I had to keep climbing). The store manager was hostile to me and told me I was lying and exaggerating and outright making up stories, when in fact, I had quoted word for word some of the harassing remarks I had been subject to (daily for about 3 years). Needless to say, the person I had reported was seen as the one in the right and I was the wrong one and so they lowered me by two pay grades and changed my hours to a night shift and took away my weekend days that I always had before. Also, the harasser continues to demean me and abuse me verbally and threaten me physically because now she knows that management is always on her side, no matter what she does. I fear for my safety so I am going to have to look for another job. Plus, my lower pay and undesirable hours (after 8 years of working at that store) have made my job a living hell. Wal-Mart's management has no ethics or integrity!
