Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott is in the national spotlight as a result of what he said at a today for vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's rally at Germain Arena in Estero.

What about ETHICS in the sheriff's dept? Are they non-existant? Total disgrace that someone in uniform would dare to get up on a stage and say what he said. Are we now living in a facist state? Sheriff Scott should positively be reprimanded for his actions.

he should be removed from office. if you are in uniform you're not suppose to endorse a candidate. if he feels that way about senator obama how does he feel about all people of color. mccain and palin are racist, and we don't need that in this presidential race, we don't need that kind of talk at all in the world. we need to pray and ask the Lord to bring us together as a people and a nation. God is watching, and he don't like what he is seeing. we need to be ready when he comes and the way people are acting towards each other it may be sooner than we think.

What is so striking about this is that he sees no wrong in it. I can tell you this: folks just north here in Georgia will probably avoid his jurisdiction. If my name is any other than JONES, SMITH, or BUBBA, I will avoid Lee County. The sheriff just doesn't "get it." Let's see if the governing authorities of Lee County DO "get it." This will likely cost Lee County some serious tourist business. I can assure you it is off my visitation list.

It is strange that a poll taken tonight revealed that a majority of people think his comment quite fine. Then again if you read the posts coming out of the article, too many either pretend not to see the error of what he said and how he said it or they are thinking that they can play dumb, and that we believe them.
If a nation-wide poll is taken tomorrow, I think that the majority of Americans are against this behavior.

As someone who used to live in Fort Myers I am angry he could say that but then again the party is a sad out of touch without any ethics bunch of tighta-- dopes!!

The only time you see Mr.Scott and his "sidekicks" is on the news.Do you think it takes 12 deputies to arrest a drunk? If it's on the TV at 6pm you'll see them all hamming it up. Try to get them for a simple crime. You'll grow a beard
