Vermont economy hits bottom

Stop sending money to the state is that the answer ?
Following is a quote from Dick Sears and after checking with others it is true
Vermont is in a financial mess. So now Vermont is joining the band wagon
of the Major Banks, Financial institutions, large corporations and other states.
The one thing Vermonters still have say in, is who we the people elect into office.
We trust the people we elect,Democrat or Republican, to oversee the states
finances. We trust that the people running for office have some idea how to do their job.
Well its now obvious to the people that our trust in our leaders was misguided.
Finger pointing will now take place Democrats will point the finger of blame at the Republicans
and Republicans pointing at Democrats. The media will be full of information and points of view
of who is at fault, arguments will take place over many dinner tables and the people we elected
into office will fuel that fire to cover up the main questions we all have from coming out. The question's
being WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE MONEY WE SENT YOU ? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE FED STATE AID,
WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE EXTRA MONEY THE "GOLD TOWNS" SENT ? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE
EXTRA TAX MONEY THE SECOND HOMEOWNERS SENT ?
Nothing , not one idea that the state has come up with has worked and kept this state from going Broke.
Coming up with the famous act 60 and 68 redistribution of wealth did not work. Charging the second homeowners
a higher tax rate has not worked. Nothing!
Well I have to ask the people to ignore the political fights and the finger pointing of blame between the Democrats
and Republicans and ask the powers that be WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE MONEY WE SENT YOU ? When are you
going to come up with an idea that works?
If we give a child an allowance and they spend it all on candy or drugs Do we keep giving money to that child.
Well its the same thing - Why do we keep sending money to the state if they can not manage it correctly.
Local selectboards around Vermont are charged with financial oversight of their towns and do a good job.
Perhaps local control works better than state! Should we have our towns stop sending money to the state
until they can show the same good financial management skills the local selectboards do ?

and why are they still raiseing the taxes and the electric and food is costing more..it dosen't make alot of since when the people don't have their jobs and homes they lost and they have lost their pride and all the goverment does is keep raiseing the taxes..because all they do is waste...

Turning a corner towards recovery? Unemployment is still rising and income is less. Those 2 statements contradict themselves. To Sam I am there is no inflation according to the Gov't. I have never believed them before and I don't intend to start now. None of them have had to face a cut in pay or loss of employment. They are not struggling on whether to pay the light bill this week or wait for the pink slip and get groceries instead. When they walk in a my shoes I MIGHT start to listen to what they have to say. NOT! They are trying to make a cesspool smell like roses and it's not working here at my house.

"dosen't make a lot of since" (one) Done in name of ultra/liberlism so must be what is best (TWO) This is Vermont they only raise taxes on rich. Hope for clean sweep by Dem's in 2010 then can raise taxes even higher increase all good goverment programs

This state hasn't seen the bottom yet. Take away all of the federal grants and other monies that Vermont is dependant upon and we are in BIG TROUBLE!. Vermont gets about $17 in Federal money for every dollar we send to Washington. We have no industry, and infrastructure to attract it. Since the Kunin administration we have been headed down hill. Hang on folks its going to get worse yet.

Industry form this area in Mexico Thank Clinton for signing NAFTA. Now taxes are so high even going to Tennessee. Vermont can shown what is important with this kiss Tourist and pass Ultra/liberal laws get in ultra/liberal judges
